I agree. Try his homeowner's insurance. He should have had proper parking facilities. I'm sorry for your loss.

As a side note, it's a good idea to carry full coverage. I'll never get rid of mine.

Wow thats terrible. Just be glad you werent IN the car when it caught on fire. Then youd have real problems. Metal and fabric can be replaced.

Thanks for the support guys. For those that didnt read the whole thread, it turns out I dont have "Fire and Theft" coverage. I will try his homeowners insurance, although my buddy is in a whole mess with this too right now. Gas from my car went down the driveway and into a drain that led to the ground. Now the ground has to all be dug up and the top soil must be removed so the gasoline wont cantominate the area. (Bull****, I know). I will talk to him about the homeowners insurance and such.

I know you guys say its just a car and it can be replaced, but that just isnt how it feels right now. Thanks for the support, I appreciate it greatly.

Mike, I dont have the 84 anymore, but would still like to know the oil pressure fix. PM me!

I'm a commercial claims adjuster from 9-5 and specialize in environmental claims. I would not call BS for someone actually doing his or her job by correcting an environmental concern. If you dribbled a little onto the soil, no biggie, but if it ran from your car, through the grass, and into a drain, damn right it should be cleaned up. Who knows where that drain goes or what plants, animals, or humans could be effected by up to 20 gallons of fuel.

UD - The kinds of policies for sale in each state are chosen and enforced by the state's insurance commissioner. An agreed value policy is a set condition specific to an auto policy and must be approved by the state. This is why State Farm can sell it in one state and not the other.

I guess I should have told the whole story Perry. The car leaked very little fuel, and the drain apparently doesnt go anywhere, just right into the ground under his driveway. Sorry If im not overly concerned about a little bit of gas going down a drain when my car was destroyed.

Hey adam,

Jeff,
I'm incredibly sorry to hear about what happen to your car. I remember seeing your 84n/a on cardomain. Looks like that was a great car and I bet this turbo was too. No matter how much it sucks, remember to move along. Life always throws obstacles but it will get better.

AND, the gas in the driveway thing is BS.

Keith

Now its time to start saving. Another 944 Turbo is somewhere in my future. I know it.
