That's awesome! Though how hard was it to match all the measurements? I would think that would be a tricky thing to do...

Hey, is there any way to make the phone dials work???

Brendan, I'm not sure what you mean about matching the measurments. I started with the wheelbase and track of my model body, and scoured specs for the RC cars. Once I go tthe right one, I'll just put the body in the right position over the chassis and glue the body mounts where they need to be to line up right. It will be all fabricated, and I'll likely clamp some things exactly where I need them to be while the glue dries. A good trick it to start with a tiny amount of glue, and once it is solid right where you need it, THEN goop it up and reinforce it.

Very cool!

You should find a way to mount your phone dial wheels instead of the Enzo ones...even though the Enzo wheels look pretty cool.

Well, since my girl is an 89, she never had phonies, and now I'm sporting something close to a BBS look. I always keep an eye out for something closer. They make all kinds of spare parts for these, including aluminum wheels. The Lambo madel comes with rims with big holes in it, it is SORT of like a phone dial but not exactly.

you can use normal car spray. Prime it and prepare it exactly as you would a proper car body, then get a can of the proper Porsche colour. It worked fine on mine (and I was told by a model-making friend before I tried that it works out fine too!)

oh, and you can also get turbo twist wheels! find a 911 carrera model kit (IIRC by revell too). very bling and they look 18-ish rather than the 17 they supposedly are from the 911 kit.

One tip I can give you Dan, and others, to make your car look real, like it has opening doors and to make all of the gaps look like evrything is a seperate piece, is to get some black paint (I have forgotten the name), but black wash sounds correct. Anyways, you put a considerable amount in the gap, then take a Q-tip and rub it down the top of the gap taking all of the excess black paint off the body, and leaving it in the gap. Looks very nice and clean, not to mention REAL!

The rule should be, if you have a model 951, it should be painted EXACTLY like your actual car!
O.K. So how do I dent the right front fender and get the clear coat to peel?

The 1:24 bodies will fit the xmod cars. The chasis on the Xmod cars are adjustable with three different settings. In fact not all xmod cars have the same wheel base.

To dent the fender take a lighter or heat gun and heat the underside of the fender and bend away, to make the clear coat peel take a very light coat of olive oil wipe it on where you want the clear coat to peel and then wipe it off. apply the clear coat. once it is dry it will lift right off leaving you with a nice jacked up paint job...
