Default The track gods hate me

I took my new M3 to the track for the first event of the year yesterday, had been waiting since last October to get back on the track. To set the stage....last October I took the old 944S out and the oil cooler lines failed, spilling oil all over the place and cutting the weekend short. My wife had to drive 180 miles to pick me up, but fortunately I was able to drive the car home.

Yesterday I had just installed the $1200 lightweight forged wheels on my new M3, with some Ground Control coilovers on order. Unfortunately, I came off turn one offline and too fast, lost rear traction, and the car spun backwards, hit a berm, and flipped over. I escaped without a scratch, and I'm not even sore today, but it just shows how dangerous this hobby can be. The car is probably totalled, but I'm waiting to hear what the insurance company says.

Glad to hear you're ok. Hopefully the insurance will pay out, most won't cover any track school etc...

How does the insurance work when tracking your car? Do you need a separate policy or a rider? Or is there fine print somewhere that you don't notice until after the fact?

Read the fine print on your policy. If you are on a reace track there is an extremly good chance your policy will not cover your car. Sorry about your luck.
