Small update for today, wired up the driver's side (Still have to build the passangers side) minus the city light in the high beam as I dont have the connector for it handy. I'm mid-progress with the lexan cover, should have an update with that tomorrow. Damn I forgot how bright these things are...

Thanks! That means alot coming from you. I've actually got the templates basically created on my computer already. I tweaked them a bit in real life but I'm sure it would be easy enough for me to update them and put them online. I know there would be slight tolerance differences per car, but hey, we're all 944 owners I'm sure you guys can figure out it. Plus I have photos from almost every step of the way.
Hmmm sounds like I know my next project. Great idea tifo!

There is a local guy here who has a similar set up on his 911SC racecar that has a Moby-Dick-like body kit on it, and it looks good on his car, and since the factory decided it was OK to locate the main lights down low on that car (racecar, not a streetcar, but hey, it's my rationalization so let me have it OK ), I see no reason why any purist would want to scoff at this idea (an updated version of the same). I can't wait to see the finished product. If you came up with a nice tutorial, and template for the brackets, it would be a real service to others on here.

Do you still have the factory ducts left in the nose on the outside areas of the grill? The squarish ones that are shaped sorta like an "S" that shoot air toward the metal deflectors? I have an extra pair of these, and I thought a good alternative idea is to cut them a little short (right after the first bend), then add some material (fiberglass or something else) to the back to diffuse the square duct down to a 2" round outlet at the back of it. Then attach this to a hose and backplate kit from OG or any other vendor.

Stupid question time, but do those work as well as a fog light in a foggy situation?
They might since they're so low.
They look hot. Plain and simple. Plus the covers would be a pretty simple thing to build, since there are already some mounting holes in there. Just add some brackets, and a curved piece of lexan. You could probably make a plaster negative of the original fog light lenses, or maybe fiberglass, then just heat the lexan, and form it with compressed air, or vacuum form, or something.
Perhaps you already have a plan for this?

HOLY COW! I really can't wait to see the finished product, WHEN i get my turbo I will be definately doing this. For now I have to stick with a euro front bumper and euro factory driving lights. A great project, this should definately be something that you keep bringing up, at this thread to your sig line or something, excellent work!

I've been working on the lexan covers, mounting them is a pain! I'm also wiring it up so the lows stay on with the highs. There should be an update with some new photos tonight or tomorrow.

What wattage are those bad boys? Once theyre done could you post a pic in a parking lot, showing what they light up (throw) and stuff?
Looks like an awsome project!

Small update for today, got the second set of lights mounted up, just copied my template for #1, had to hammer a SLIGHT piece of metal right next to the bumper core support (nothing structural, I could've bent it with my hand.) More photos to come tomorrow when I work on wiring/lexan.
