Oh yeah, I forgot about this, Vaughan brought his beat looking 82 931 with bone stock original everything, other than the turbo, and estimated 180K miles and still managed 121hp. Not bad, especially considering what the car looks and sounds like.

Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't I think we'd need before/after dyno's to figure that out.. if it works, it doesnt matter that it's ugly.. IMO.

I won't say i don't love amazing lookign jobs either. Just some peopel have different priorities.

My point is there are a thousand different ways he could've done that exact thing and made it look good, like fiberglassing an intake into the bumper like on the 993's next to the fog lights, something, anything, that didnt look like something broke and fell out of the side marker.

My first thought was that it looks like the brake cooler duct Pelican sells for some of the 911s.

I only planned on being there for Saturday and besides, it was rainy and a little bit muddy. But fun, especially since I got to meet a bunch of folks.

If he wanted to go cold air correctly, and put the filter down where he put it, it'd be much better to have it extend under towards the horns, and then put a sealed intake up against the bumper near the brake ducts, filtering in cold air from there, like all the ricers do, oh wait that's right, cold air intakes ARE for ricers. You arent gonna see jack for gains, despite what some will believe.
Yeah, I guess all those dynos lie.

CAIs don't do so much for a turbo car because they don't rely on resonance tuning to pack more air into the cylinder, or at least not like a NA does.

I stopped by the fest today on the way back from buying my 951 yesterday (pics for that in the other thread). Here's what I saw...

There's more in the gallery if you click one of the pics above.

I only stayed for about 2 hours, long enough to drop off one of those 944x4's for a doorprize. Got to meet Chris924S and some others. I'll have to come back down for next year in the right kind of German car instead of that POS from Munich.

I just pulled in, the dyno number were impressive- weather today was hot and humid but sunny.
Dale should be back at at his place in 10-15 minures.

Thaks all for attending, thanks to the sponsor and MANY MANY Thanks to Dan an Cuuuz. Another "great time had by all" weekend.

I forgot my Camera- Doh!. Good thing, there would be some incriminating photos- just WAIT til Travis posts his- one will become my new avatar...
