Default Driver's side mirror glass?

Ok, I knew the glass was gone when I bought the car. Just the glass, nothing else. The rubber(?) backing pad is still there as well.
Been looking and can't find any. Anyone know where to get the glass?
Also, what sort of adhesive should be used to stick it on good and solid?

HAHAHA! wow, this is quite the coincidence!

My friend just bought a 944 the same color, and the passenger side mirror glass fell off not 5 min. before delivery...

No leads, but a new piece from the dealer (has the heater element and attatching stuff) is around $115.00. try some salvagers.

Heated mirrors.

I remember back when mine fell (passenger side).
I went to several glass shops, and found one that could special order the piece from San Diego (It's a shared 928 part IIRC) for around $80.
I ended up buying one from one of the many guys here parting cars.
I used 5min. epoxy to stick it back onto the housing.

In NY, the car is not allowed to pass the safety inspection with mirror glass missing. You should have made the dealer foot that bill. . . .

Meh. They knocked $100 off the price of the car, so they sorta did foot the bill.

We should be going out to Barrier Motors tomorrow to check on a few things, so I suppose we'll check there too. I'd expect an upper-crust dealer to be quite expensive though.

$80 for a piece of glass? sheesh...I think I'll cut and polish a piece of steel and call it a day

You can get a straight mirror cut from any glass shop. 10$
Carl- I love ya but 50$ is outta control unless it's a convex heated mirror. (Which yours may be).

I used 5 minute epoxy for mine- as long as the motor adjusters are OK, you'll be fine.

Best of luck Wolfe.

non-heated and non- convex, it's a simple mirror. I thought yours had the elements, hence my prior statement Carl. You have the high dollar replacement- prolly 300$ or more from the dealer.

i went to a local hardware store and bought a piece of mirror plexiglass and had it cut to size...the mirror isnt perfect staright so u have to contour the curves by sanding it...this option was less than $5...just use 3m automotive double sided tape to stick to the mirror base
