Hmm... "Distance between Helsinki, Finland and Lexington, Ohio, United States, as the crow flies: 4373 miles (7038 km) (3800 nautical miles)" (http://www.indo.com/distance/) ... no, I'm not seriously thinking about it, but in a way it would be a cool trip to do...

1000 some odd miles is nothin! you guys can do it. if i can drive my air cooled 4 banger (which you guys view as inferior) 6000 miles round trip to cali and back, then you guys can make it to 944 fest.
youre not going to get shown up by a 912 now are you? (yup.. driving cross country again this year too.. 3 years in a row!).

I'll be at 944 fest, and the nine dozen will get on the dyno! gotta test out my new engine, and it should be broken in by then

I *might* see about making the trip... 5200 miles is a long way tho My two weeks vacation somes to be by July so ill need to use that up haha.

Anyone know what the camping costs there? Or is it free? And whats the "average" cost for gas in the Northern part of the US? For Premium, 93 octane or whatever it is.

Ive found the key to making jello shots taste a bit better is to let them sit in the fridge for 2 days Had some at a party one time, they tasted way better on the saturday night than they did on the friday night when we made them

Hmmm....never tried that before. I am always open to new ideas.

But you might want to ask Cory (or Chris, or Dan the Mad Jello Vampire, or Michelle) who the "King of Jello" is...........

I'll be leading Southern States Caravan!!! I marked 944 Fest for each day in July many months ago to be sure I have time off when the dates were decided. (now I just need a job to ask time off from ) Either way, I'll be there.

I'm really excited about the dyno event. Can you imagine 100 waterboys standing around a rig while a pumped up 944 puts down 400, 500, maybe even more HP? The crowd will be drinking beer, doing shots and chanting "turn up the BOOST! turn up the BOOST!!" It could be quite SPECTACULAR!
I'm guessing no more than 14 or 16 cars will get a shot at it, the dyno guy guesses 1/2 hr per car, so if it runs 8 hours, do the math. I haven't decided how I'm going to decide who gets on, obviously I'd like to get the big beasts (no offense, Harry) up there if able. I'm imagining 3 classes, n/a, force fed, and special fuels/unlimited. If a 928 wants to play, what do I do? how about nitrous? So many choices. I suppose that is the good thing about a dictatorship, I'll just do what ever I want.
For those flying in, CLE and CMH are equidistant, check your rates and rides. Camping is free and we'll have hot and cold running water 24hrs. I'll make my nearby motel room available for showers Sun AM if anyone wants it.
Since I've got such a huge venue, I plan to do some agressive advertising for this. I'll be looking at advert rates for Pano, and I think the local PCA's will throw me a blurb in the newsletter. With this new site, I think we could accomidate 250+ cars, so I've got a lot of room to grow in future years. What car magazine has a writer on staff with a 951? maybe I should call him. I plan to have it mentioned in Autoweek's event listing. Spread the word, folks!!!
