That reminds me of one time at the dragstrip, they ran a jet car against a rail job. The rear-engine rail got a FIFTEEN second head start...and LOST!

Someoneo had a great idea about autocross.... Despite the possibility of broken cars a long ways from home.. it would be cool if there was a parking lot around somewhere that was willing to host it. Just a thought.

I say save the dyno money and just hand the prize to Horsepower Farm...
Careful...there are beasts lurking among you

Reality check.. I'd love too..BUT I'm going to have a full schedule from noon Sat to 5pm Sunday. When would you propose splitting up the group and running time trials? I agree it would be neat, it certainly would give a chance for the non-show quality and non-monster hp cars (the rest of us) to get some awards, but it just isn't going to happen. Maybe I'll designate a certain turn on the cruise the "drift contest" and post a vid camera and a judge!.. That would be the shiznet.. of course I'd have to close the road, have a tow truck and ambulance on standby, and pay off the local cops.

I was considering a parade lap or two on Mid-Ohio during the cruise (IF a Porsche club had the track that weekend, on lunch break or something) but unfortunately that is during bike week there so I'm figuring we best stay out of the way of those two wheeled hellions.

As for Winslow and Andy dominating, I would not bet on it. There are some monsters out there lurking, certainly not known on this list, and I intend to bring them out. As discreetly as possible, I'm going to gather info on the combatants and stage them for a very climactic series of pulls. I think it would be slick if we had some sort of lottery where folks could bet on a certain car to win, but the secrets and odds and such would be very tricky to manage. Of course, gambling being illegal might dampen my efforts. What if we sell tickets for a random drawing to pair contestants with a car..if their car wins, they get a chunk of the pot? This could be a lot of fun. I encourage wagering between opponents, it would add to the excitement to know some folks have $$ on the line!!

Anybody else excited yet?

422 from my vacation spot in PA, 612 miles from my house, i'm there!

Any of you guys from NJ coming, let me know what route you are taking (when the time comes), and I'll drive south from Rochester and meet up with you guys before heading to Ohio.

Point well taken on the autox, well have some fun without it. Oh, don't forget to include a category in your judgeing for NA's seems like the beautiful turbos always dominate

Neither would I. My engine is out for a little freshening. Now I will have to completely rethink my mods and figure out where I will get the money. I was already way over budget.

One thing is sure, I will still be 2.5L.

I would bet on," the monsters lurking among us"

I hate you guys!
