Andrew: I thought you were getting a Spec stage 2 clutch (remember you post) but anyways....

How much can the stock clutch take before it starts slipping/screwing up?

I was looking at Spec, but their stage 3 is way to harsh for street by the reviews I have seen, and the stage 2 does not seem like enough. I did a search and some guys whose opinion I trust more really liked the KEP a lot. And the cup disk does not have those smaller engaging springs, so its a good setup I think! I also got the stock fly lightened. I think 300 at the wheel and the clutch starts to feel it more, those small springs are ****e!

Promotion installed a Sport Clutch on my car as a part of their basic build contract. How is this clutch compared to stock?

Sorry, I just checked Paragon's website and figured out that the Sport Clutch is otherwise known as the Cup Clutch. Guess it should be pretty nice if you 400hp guys are using them.

Whats a "Sport" clutch?

I would think that may be a generic name for a "cup" type disk, esentially its like the stock one but does not have the smaller engaging springs, mine had disintegrated big time.

Yes, a sport clutch is the same exact thing as a cup clutch. Paragon and Promotion call it a sport clutch, and the place you got yours, apparently calls it the cup clutch. It is the same exact part, not generic. What is the difference in feel I will notice?

I was not referring to the disk being generic, but the name... "cup" is just a name too...

You will notice it will engage harder... the smaller springs were designed to make it smoother. Its supposed to feel more like a sports car should... I cant wait!

It's not the power, but the torque that overwhelms the clutch. My car came with the Cup Clutch that the previous owner installed. I upgraded to the Huntley Stg.2 turbo & MAF-4 kit for about 350rwhp and it pretty much wiped out the clutch. Lasted 40K-miles. Then I went to the Centerforce Dual-Friction clutch kit. On this last engine-rebuild, I measured the clutch at 1/2 worn with 80K-miles on it. So my estimate is that the Centerforce outlasts the Cup clutch by 4x.

Danno: I also read that the Centerforce clutches have 4x clamping power and last 4x longer than stock or 'cup' clutches. But have you seen the price on them? if i remember, someone posted (a LONG time ago) that they run ~$1000 for the kit, true/false?
