With this type of contest, I think we need some verification of the dyno numbers being properly calibrated.
Any of us that went to the PCA meet at Autotechnik in NJ, will verify that dyno readings can be off....like the 300 bhp Jetta....that was stock.

It should be a stroked 6.1L with 18psi should be making HUGE numbers. We should even be talking about 3 digit numbers. There are truck loads of 500+ hp 302s out there.

I guess with those turbos, it's just a matter of who can run the required boost without excessive pinging... is race fuel allowed?

Easy to make 400 hp...

..dump in 110 oct race gas and TURN up the BOOST!!!!!!!!! Might last long enough for a glory run.

.... of course making the hp and not blowing-up the motor shortly there after... that is a little harder.

So do you get to re tune the car after the dyno run to prevent blowing headgasket?

Or is this supposed to be 400 rwhp in regualar street trim on Pump gas. Or just the "glory" run for a big number?

20 psi, you puss. Actually, I would be kind of surprised if you made it with only 20 psi.

Ah, daniel-san, I didnt say it couldnt be done, I said it would be surprising. I agree the AFR is awful. I have a "similar" set of mods and plan on making that much as well but I dont know that it will happen at 20 psi. I have a chip set for 21psi and I am still not confident that the car will make 400.

Knowing what I know now, I would have gone at this project in a completely different manner. If I dont make 400 in the next few weeks, look for a new Milledge intake and cam setup as well as a custom header in the 1st Q 2005. I think I will be darn close and that should be enough to make the difference.

My vote is for Rage or 86951 with the Milledge motor. Both have been over 400 for a while now.
