Doesn't OZ have some sort of law that you can't have a LHD car licensed for the road? Between that and the import duties you guys just get killed on price. And why a lot of cars get imported from the UK.
I'd hate to think about all the parts and cost you would need to convert LHD to RHD.
I think OZ951 just tracks his car he took back with him from the States and left it LHD. That is a great car: http://www.oz951.com/public/mods.htm

Greetings from Singapore. Been here 2 months, and finally saw my first 951 here. It was a gorgeous Silberrosa with a rare sunroof delete. It is amazing how much cars cost here. A prospective buyer will have to purchase a Certificate of Entitlement (COE) from the govt to allow him to purchase a car. A COE will only last 5 years. At the end of 5 years, the owner will have to purchase another COE to allow him to drive the car for another 5 years. The owner of the Silberossa purchased the COE for his car at S$53,000 = US$31,547! He darn near killed me when I mentioned that 951s can be had for a 1/3 of what he paid for his car, and we get to keep it forever. Just imagine if you bought a car for $31,547...and the timing belt goes out on you. He mentioned that a timing belt costs S$500 over here. That's US$297!!!!
Yup, the RHD Porsches can get pretty pricey!

I've seen a few 944's cruising around on the Gold Coast and Brisbane, but hardly any 944 Turbos. I've only seen one other one on the street, and one for sale at the dealer i bought mine from. The n/a's tend to range from 16k for crap ones to 20k for decent ones..... turbos up closer to 30k for a good one.

Ice Shark,
Not sure what the law is but i do see some US LHD cars road registered. Your'e right we are probably the most overtaxed nation on the planet. 48c in every dollar I earn goes to the govt then 10% on goods & services & other duties just about accont for the rest.
