Default Collector Policy Holders - New Auto Insurance Product - Your Help Needed, Poll 1 of 3

PLEASE ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS THAT APPLY HONESTLY AND ACCURATELY. THIS POLL, and others, WILL BECOME PART OF MY BUSINESS MODEL.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING POST BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR VOTE.

POLL 1 of 3

I am trying to gain a knowledge base and some statistics for an innovative new automotive insurance policy, and I of course get the stats from home first. Thanks to John and Pete for allowing this.

Some say insurance is a waste. I tend to agree, until your car blows up in flames along with $20,000 in new parts. Then, when you think you are fully insured, you get $8,000 for it. The company and policy I am developing will fill the badly needed holes in automotive insurance. All Licenses for the State of Georigia have been submitted and are pending. Business name and domain are secured, as are some investments. I will bring you this product some time in the near future.

So, in closing, please answer your questions as accurate as possible. If you would like to add more comments, please post a reply to this poll. *note - Replys in public may be used as public record. Thanks for you time, and god speed and good health to you.

My 67 Charger carries collectible insurance, limited mileage, stated value. I don't recall the premium but it is dirt cheap.

I've tried to take out collector/stated amount policy on my M3 (it is a rarely driven, low mileage, just about all original, 1 owner car) and every place that I talked to either said that either the car wasn't old enough to be eligable, or I wasn't old enough to be eligable. I don't know if that makes me eligable for this pole but I checked the last option (if you need to adjust it due to my participation)

I am on a show car insurance. My car isnt old enough for the collector segment, but since i have proof of use, i qualified for show. There's a bunch of rules, but i fit pretty much.

I was denied a stated value policy due to a speeding ticket that had not cleared my record. Didn't know if this info might help or be a determinig factor in these policies.

All I know is that the collector policies are too strict with their limitations and stadard policys pay you crap.

What we need is a policy that allows you to use your car as you please and still provide proper coverage for it should somthing happen.

It is impossible for anyone to take an old 944 or any car for that matter that is nice shape and keep it insured properly.

I have two classic cars on antiqe ins. plus the 944 and a daily driver on regualr insurence. Because there are three drivers in the house the 944 cannot be put on a classic policy. My argument is that regardless of cost, there should be an insurance company willing to insure a classic car when it is used occasionally as transportation.

Hell, my collector insurance told me that if I decide to take one of the classic cars to work one nice day and it gets stolen, I am not covered.

State Farm Classic Policy covers anything in "stock" condition (has to at least look like the factory made it that way!), 10 years or older, has a stated value (must be reasonable!) and you can set the number of miles you want to drive it per year...probably some bottom age limit, but not my issue!
1987 Porsche 944"S" w/ every option and some add ons costs me $182.00 for $15,000.00 stated value and 5,000 "anywhere" miles. Of course, no drivers under age 21...
