It's not that I disagree.. I think the expletive language use is a greater personal affront than scantily clad women. It's MY opinion.

The personal taste (Or lack thereof) in pictures in avatars while accessing Rennlist at work is at the discretion on the user, and is controllable.

but the whole "I'm gonna tell the teacher" mentality is infantile.

Actually, I didn't see any "I'm gonna tell the teacher" mentality in the least. Quite the opposite. Tom has requested that Rennlisters exercise some personal disipline.

I've always found it somewhat humourous that some full grown adults are so easily offended by R-rated imagery and foul language.

/shrug

I guess because maybe foul language is indicitive of strong negative feelings towards someone, and that in itself creates and uncomfortable atmosphere for people. I guess it all depends on the context.

Some full grown adult images are still far too inappropriate for the workplace, regardless of our personal opinions about them.

I'm sad that my daughters won't enjoy Rennlist as much as me, even though they may enjoy Porsches more than me. I agree that avatars make it much easier to follow who said what. It is a shame that many in this community feel it is more important to have a lingerie model next to their name than to really help out a fellow lister. Is it really that important to all of you that you can't help out Tom R. with this one little thing? We're not talking about free speech, we're talking about personal preference and being willing to concede something small for someone else's happiness.

Yes, you can change it in your profile to turn avatars off. What a pain to turn them off at work and back on at home. Every day. Are the lingerie models really that important? My $.02.

All I have to say is if the hot avatar chicks must go because people are offended, then I say we need to put a stop to all the ugly relatives and loved ones people post on here too. Just as one might have no inclination to look at a scantily clad avatar, some people have no ambition to look at a hairy morbidly obese chick with a four inch overbite and a glass eye who happens to be your close companion standing next to your car.

I celebrate all women. Even the hot ones. Unless there was nudity or people showing accident photos of dead people in their avatar, I dont mind anything.

I tend to go by the FCC standard. As long as it would make the TV airwaves thats probably appropriate enough here in this forum.

Thank you for your support.

Im offended by your Sanford and Son avatar. That show perpetuated the black stereotype of uneducated poor african american men who have no ambition in life and do nothing but trade junk and live like pigs. Red Foxx was also an alcoholic with many personal problems and eventually spent all his fortune away on booze and women.

It has to go.

Okay, I respect those who would help out Tom by changing avatars, fine.

But I still think it is unfair to ask others to cater to you, because you are at work surfing the rennlist and don't want your boss to get offended. I mean common sense says you should not be surfing the rennlist on company time to begin with, no?? It's like you are asking one person to cease his unethical behavior so that it makes your unethical behavior easier to commit. Whatever..

The funniest thing is how adamantly I am argueing this when my avatar is not even female.

/shrug

mabye I'm just afraid that the next request will be for all non-porsche related images to be purged from the list. maybe it's because I was raised in a very liberal european family. Who knows. Maybe I should get my butt off the list and go do something productive!

David - awsome scene, that was.
