Default Resurfacing Flywheel

When you resurface a flywheel, can anyone do it? Would it be as easy as taking it to someone who turns rotors? I guess I would probably want to give them the spec to resurface to though. TIA.

Take it to an automotive machine shop..... unless you just want to buy a new one!

I have a neighbor with a lathe, and I am qualified to run one.....maybe I should just resurface the thing. Anyone know the spec to resurface within?

You can make a lathe outta your car. Saw it on some site. I would never do it though.

Why don't you have it lightened while you have it out?

I would go the lightened flywheel route, believe me as it was one of the best things I ever did to the Prelude, but PCA Club Racing rules and autox rules consider that a bump from stock....

Yeah, I dont think I am going to go with the lathe on the car, too much is out of control for my tastes.

are there any metal manufacturing or machine shops in your area? I'm sure they can do it for you for the price a mechanic pays to send it out to get resurfaced.
