Closing in on another chapter of this build... A set of General Grabber AT/X tires were mounted on my spare set of cookie cutters, which I think look better than the wheels that came with this car. I originally was looking for BF Goodrich KO2's but nobody had them in stock; I was told from more than one tire shop that they're backordered for a couple months. These should do fine with my local driving and future plans. Anyway, she goes in for an alignment this Friday, which should even out the ride although it's not too hateful at the moment.

I took a few shots tonight while pumping some fresh fuel in her. She may not be 100% level (I'm going to see if I can adjust the spring plates) but I'm ok with this small amount of rake. Besides, they're may be some additional settling in the rear.

Glad to see the "Beastie" on the road!! Looks great after the wash! Looks like she's ready for a road trip! I found a moldex plug depinning device on Amazon and bought it. That will help with the moldex plugs, both male and female on the headlight motor situation. Hope today to get the engine miss diagnosed today as well. Looking great with the new tires!

I think the pop up headlights might need some extra pop up travel to accommodate the rake angle.

I've considered that when she approached the ground post-surgery; They will be adjusted once the alignment is completed today.

Well, she got back from the shop this afternoon so I just had to take for a little jaunt in the woods...

We came across an old burial ground. Not today Beastie... Not today.

I think mudflaps are next...

Patrick, nice progress. I’d want it level-ish, and would think it would handle safer that way? I’m not engineering-smart enough to qualify my idea, other than to wonder if maybe more rake would shift weight frontwards and therefore might make the rear end skittish? Those rear height eccentrics yield more adjustment than one might think.

Hi John,
This is probably as good as it's going to get. Besides, I still have a fair amount of stuff to load up (Jerry can holders, a roof-rack privacy tent, as well as the micro-camper conversion inside). She's actually tracking very nicely; the alignment results were much better than we all thought. I'll scan and post the report soon...

How do you find the acceleration and braking with the heavier tires?

Actually, no real issues at all. I've been taking real easy with her as we identify any gremlins during these shakedown drives. I did take her to my weekly Cape Cod Porsche Gruppe Breakfast (@90 miles round trip) and only experienced some front end squeaking at parking lot speeds. Here are the alignment results (actually pretty good, considering the suspension lift):

A couple of other issues came up yesterday. My air horn relay also took a dump so a new one was ordered last night and something's going on with the charging system. I did start another thread regarding the blue exciter wire issue; the car will not charge until the engine hits 2,500 rpm, then everything works as it should. I'm delving into that today.

A small update today; I replaced the original lug nuts with new steel nuts for a bit more strength. I'll keep the old set in the car just in case though...
