Default evilBay fraud alert!

I was just surfing evilBay -- and saw a car I really like -- it looks exactly like my car. In fact, lo and behold, it IS my car. Someone is trying to sell my car on evilBay!

In case anyone is looking at the 94 Black cab on evilBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2470250776, be aware that this is a FRAUD. Whoever this is, found the old advertisement the PO of my car had used (and left on the internet) and is recycling it http://www.autosaleassistance.com/Cl...yyap/index.htm.

Now, I wonder how I can have fun with this guy.... Any ideas?

It looks very nice Your car i mean. It looks just like my father-in-laws 968 cab. He even gave you the VIN # to verify. Maybe you should contact Ebay with this find.

hmm

win the auction for like 20 000 dollars (have us bid it up) and then say he has to drive it to you to get that much for it. and say you are like in a neighboring state. tell him a store parking lot to go to , and dont go. first of all, he'll feel inclined to go there since you are giving him that much. and just say you will only pay at the site. see what he does. :P

I want to have fun with this guy before reporting to eBay -- it's not like eBay is going to do anything serious besides pulling the auction, and he'll just pop up somewhere again. The guys at eBay don't do anything when it comes to fraud, so I might as well. I need ideas, though....

We should all bid it up to as high as possible and then report it to excellence to factor into their 924/944/968 market summary. It'll increase
your cars value

I agree you should play with him a little before you/anyone else reports it.

We need some ideas though....

There is one other possibility, he might have a car just like yours for sale, and doesn't have access or the ability or the know how to host the pics online so instead he's choosing to "use" your photos. I've seen this happen before, just not with a car.

He went from selling pottery to a 1980 968?

And if he has one just like it for sale why is the mileage exactly the same as in the pic and description...

AND used the same mechanic. Just check with my GF -- she's denying everything.

I'm going to start bidding on it (heck it's my own damn car!). But it's one of those annoying restricted bidding deals -- which means that you have to email the guy and he finds out your email address and eBay account: can anything bad happen as a result? Like getting your account hijacked?
