Default WTB: 951 Pistons

My pistons are out of spec and I need some 951 pistons that are in good shape.

Were there any differences through the years?

thanks,

Adrial

Machine shop I'm using said they are out of spec. Piston to cylinder clearances are too large.

The first one he measured was fine, the other 3 too small.

I've heard from 2 mechanics that I shouldn't mess with the piston skirt coatings because the pistons were designed by Mahle/Porsche to "work" with the Alusil bores and the aftermarket piston skirt coatings were not. What do you guys think of that?

I'll give swain a call and see what they have to say.

Thanks Chris..I'll let you know if I do.

Right now there's someone within driving distance, so I'd rather go that route.
