Any other while you're in there stuff to fix?

i just did the oil cooler seals as i was getting the milk shake. ran the motor with the filter off to see what was coming out and didn't want the recirculate the milk shake thru the oil filter... and didn't want to waste the filter.. was milky then got to the fresh oil. btw the oil does not come out the round hole that the filter screws on.. rather, it comes out the hole in the housing outside the round hole that the filter screws into...

brought the 944 to operating temps and lots of water coming out the timing belt housing but cannot really tell where the coolant is coming from. After leaving the car for a day, i found lots of coolant on the garage floor below so i topped up 1.5 litres and immediately, without even starting the car, i found a leak at the timing belt cover. Is this just a water pump and seal issue or could there be other issues? Besides the list of items that yankmychain had listed.

@yank, that's not your real name i'm guessing..haha

The waterpump is the only component directly in contact with coolant, within the timing belt area. If you have coolant coming out, you've got a serious problem. Time to do the waterpump now. And since you need to remove the belts, you might as well replace everything in there (bearings, sprockets, seals, etc.).

Understand about the water pump for 944.

What other items do you advise for the timing belt kit? Stick with Porsche OEM or other brands that are high quality? How about rollers and all the other associated items?

Front seal kit? Feel free to DM.
