Alex the timing sucks ....... I didn't get your message till i got back ... could be cause you left it as a visitor mesage .. if you had left it as a PM I would vave picked it up on my BB. they also had tonnes of those brake shields ( boxes of em ) but didn't know exactly what you wanted.
That SUCKS sorry to hear about it . I am going to another swap meet in June but it will be a LOT smaller at a dealer in Ohio.
next time send a PM as i don't think the visitor messages do anything .

    Velodon,

I bought my 91 C2 in July 2006 with 245k kms (150k mi) and put on 30,000 mi on it when the clutch started slipping a couple months ago after a hard day at a PCA autocross. I drive it daily so i couldn't stand the slippage and decided to drop the motor / tranny. Sure enough the clutch is badly worn and i will replace with the Sachs HD clutch and maybe add a aluminum flywheel.

The motor drips oil at every stop. Far from dry and from several places and even the transmission has a slight leak so i suspect it's the first rebuild though i can't say for certain. It's taken a few weeks to get to the long block being stripped and we will open it up on Friday 21Nov and see what's inside. I don't want to spend too much dough as the body is a little beat up. How much is the guy asking for the 90 C4? Definitely use whatever you can as bargaining chip including the fact that lower mileage cars like one on ebay couldn't even get a 10,000 bid.

Alex- Is this the first rebuild? How long has it been leaking/dripping oil?
Reason I ask is that I'm looking at a '90 C4 w/ 96K miles- well maintained Cal car. Had a PPI done last Friday and tech said it was one of the driest 964's he's ever seen even though minimal evidence of oil leajage/weapage was apparent on the left bank of cylinders. I gather at 96K I could drive this beauty for a long time before a top-end. I tried to use the oil leak as a bargaining chip...
