Default Quick! Dme Relay Replacement Questions!

Alright. I'm in the middle of the process of switchin out the DME relay. Here's what I need to know.

-Should I un-plug the negative terminal of the battery?
-I've got the second fuse box moved, and it's still a bitch to get out. do I keep wiggling it until it comes out or is there another trick?

Thanks
-Porschephile

Don't worry about the battery. Try carefully using a small screwdriver to help the old relay out.

I assume this is the 924s.

A pair of latex gloves, and some gentle rocking of the DME relay will help.

I personally would not use a screwdriver, particularly when the battery negative cable is left in.

Well, the 924S actually terms it a fuel pump relay. Sounds like you got a 6 prong DME relay from a later 944. Sounds like the wrong part.

They sent you an 924 relay, you need the later 924S/944 relay, they sent you the wrong part.

Are you sure that 4 prong silver relay has that part number? That sounds like a superceeded 6 prong 944 DME relay. Superceeded from part number 944 615 227 00.

The silver relay looks like a 433 906 059 or a 477 906 059. Don't check the box, check the part!!

Positive. reading it off the box that Pelican sent me. so I should have

944.615.227.00? here is what the box on the 4 prong one says:

Fuel Pump/DME relay, 944 (#2 position 83-85/1), 944 (1985/2-91), 924S, 968, 911 carrera 2/4 (198
