looks like the little one is enjoying the ride! I put a third belt in the middle on mine when my son was little and stuck a little kiddy seat between me and the wife for short trips. He loved it- now he's graduated to his own Cayman!

Finally found a yellow 914 Matchbox. There is one in a 10-pack. Of course I bought two 10-packs... My 3 three year-old son was loving it though. He got the rest of the cars!

Well after getting the tires all figured out, I finally got to take it out on the highway. When I hit 60mph or so, I would get some vibration like the wheels were out of balance. Then it occurred to me that maybe the guys at the tire shop didn't properly tighten the wheels.
Sure enough when I went to loosen the lugs some were extremely tight while others not as much. I'm guessing that they tightened one lug with an impact, then put in the other lugs thus making the wheels off center. I loosened all the lugs and properly tightened them in a cross pattern. Took it out for a spin and problem solved. It's sad that you have to do everything yourself these days.

I went to my local Wal-Mart - nothing! They had Matchbox, but nothing like what I'm looking for (914!). I also don't remember seeing any at Target, so???

Had I known these were so highly desired I would have taken them from my kids. At this point they are less than concours quality. It turns out that 914's are not that good at criss-cross-crash. I guess I should have realized that a 914 without any rust on it would be valuable.

The orange singles, the red Lesney and the yellow in the 10-pack seem to be the current colors. The greens came out a little while ago. You may still find them in stores with less traffic like grocery stores and drug stores. Look toward the back of the pegs for older models. If anyone can't find them, let me know. I can try and pick up extras.
Walmart and Target are where I found the singles. I found the 10-pack at Walmart. The red Lesney Edition I found at Toys R Us. Kmart and Sears Grand also carry them.
