Hi,
Any cure for the soft valve guides?

Where'd you get those cool pillar fillers?

They are Ruf items, i ordered them from Ruf in Germany. They don't list them for the 930 but they do have them, just drop them an email

I always said that this is what I should have done in the first place. Instead I put a 964 3.6 and modified the hell out of it.

The 993 engine is similar to the 964 in many ways. There will be a fair bit of non-obvious fabrication required. You can't just plug it in. e.g. there is no internal oil cooler so you need to have a larger external one. But it's not rocket science.

I think it's a great idea...

Would have been much easier with a 964 body, it was a long winded job getting it in the 930, as you say quite a bit of fabricating, but so worth it, it's head and shoulders above my old single turbo motor on CIS! And a lot easier to get tuned than an aftermarket EFI job, so many off the shelf choices with Motronic! With the added bonus of built in safety like knock sensing etc.

I've detailed the build a bit better over on Pelican, much shorter and i posted the answers to some questions like how to hook the wiring up, and how to make the 4 speed box work with it.

It's all back together and running, now doing sub 7.5 seconds 60-130, very pleased with it!!

Gabe cheers for the kind words!

Jim, yes i'm back to good health, still have the bloody suspension here to send you, i'm absolutely useless!!!

Why has this forum gone so damned quiet, it used to be a hive of activity, now you're lucky to see one post a day, how sad.....

Seeing this, I should have slapped a 993tt engine in my 964T first time around instead of getting the engine rebuilt twice in 6 months.

Quick Reply: Anyone with a 993tt engine in a 930??
