You're right, the color does look the same. We looked at a special color that had a bit of brown tint, that was the one I referred to. This is listed as Flint Gray.

Now, off to look at 993's....but I feel hesitant to write another big check right now.

Very nice daily driver! I remember some advertisment where Mercedes mentioned that they were the car most people ever took a picture next to when they bought it....

My dogs like my cooking and think I sing terrific, because I work their names into songs, lol!

Ed, congratulations on the fine E-class. They are very fine cars. One caveat, start looking for replacement cat converters. You'll need perhaps two in maybe 3-4 years, and they are a grand from Benz.

Thanks for the tip. I do have a buddy who has an indy MB/Audi/BMW shop with the MB computer system as well. I think he pays like $16K a year for subscription? Maybe that is all three. I'll have him put her up on the lift and run the sequence. She's still got factory warranty.

Here's the $1500 wheel, and a pic of "Stormy" (my wife had to give her a name) next to her sis. Two Frauleins.

By the way, Ruby has heat again! I got the part from Dan Pechtel and got it in today and ran the new hoses. Even with the backdate on the heater, it puts some heat out thru the footwells. It does better at higher RPM's though.

More importantly, I have defrost again, which is somewhat of a safety issue during the winter months, even in SoCal. That, and no frozen feet running up the mountain.

Next project: Dyno day next Saturday.

Love the gals, Ed! And any woman who names her car such a cool name is A-plus in my book.

There is an unofficial hierarchy on the autobahn, starting from VW then Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Porsche. Nice to see the top two lined up side by side Ed.

Very nice Ed. Does it have "bun warmers" (heated seats)?
Benz CPO is among the best for service and coverage.

Yes, it does. That, and not being black, were her only criteria.

Ed- my wife purchased same model 2006 new and really liked it until 2 months ago when she asked for a small SUV. Loved driving around in my Honda Ridgeline but it was a bear to park in these tight CA spaces. Se we ended up getting her a Nissan Murano (liked the curves!). I can tell you all the small little things that'll go wrong but they're small change. Your wife will love it!

I sold the Honda in hopes of getting a Porsche but now I'm driving her old E350. It's for sale

Funny-I've got a Ridgeline, and Deb thinks it's too "trucklike". It's all relative. Looking for a 993 now-maybe next week, but I've got cold feet still- then the fleet will be done.
