I've been on an airplane going somewhere for business the last 10 weeks straight. It ain't over yet. ![Mad](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif)
But, I've really not driven Ruby but maybe 20 miles in the last 4 weeks, and not lifted a tool to her longer than that.
I got to take her over to a little Cars and Coffee yesterday, on a 70-something degree day here in SoCal. She just seemed to run a little rough, particularly at idle. So, today I went on a search for vacuum leaks, as I had a hunch this may be the culprit. I had one intake riser that took about a ft-lb of torque to tighten up a bit, but more importantly, I had a big leak on the upper hose coming out of my idle control valve. A shot at the end on the ICV killed the engine. I couldn't clamp any more, and the hose does not appear cracked. I think it is just 26 years old now!
I ended up sliding the clamp up to seat on the raised lip of the fitting, and seem to have a good seal now. I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a new ICV, and check out the hose availablilty. The top, where it goes into the throttle body boot, has two swaged clamps.
I also took the opportunity to remove my seat and check that both sides of my splitter were working and that all six plugs on each coil were playing nicely together. All was well, and she feels smoother at idle now after playing around a bit.
Never miss an opportunity with the seat out to wash the inside of the rear window and vacuum back there. Access is kind of tight!![Cool](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)
My freshly clean air filter is out in the sun drying right now too.
Dyno day on 12/12! I'm FINALLY going to get some data so I can get my chip dialed in closer. I know there's 10HP waiting to be unlocked...

I see a spot of dirt, but figure you know it is there, so I won't point it out to ya.

Are you going to let us know what she will be, or do you just want me to tell you it will be a 993 Turbo, and leave it at that?

w.o.w. I love to see that sort of attention to detail! Fuel pressure is also an easy check, and logical. McMaster has those hose clamps.
My lazy butt went back to sleep after watching the F1 race in Aba Zabba, then drained the oil in the 911, planning for my clutch parts to arrive tomorrow. I keep putting off the engine drop...or rather, work and life keeps coming up with distractions.

Mind reader. If I did it today, that is what I'm leaning toward. I'm still called by the GT3 siren, but I keep thinking that I'd be more apt to thrash that or spend money on "upgrades", and then I'd end up with another hard core car.
I'm really after a nice ride that can do some road trips. 993 C4S seems to suit.
Then, I keep thinking I want to retire soon, so maybe I should spend unnecessary capital. But, I think I come back to my senses when that happens.

I've always liked a C4S with vario-ram. They are special cars IMHO. Nothing against a GT3, I just don't have much experiance with them. I'm certain your looking long term, and the investment value of both would be good. Tough decision.
