Glad to know I'm not the only one with a laundry list of things to do. I did just buy the car though. Isn't it expected to have a long list in the early stages?
1) Fix odometer and fuel gauge Partially done. Cleaned sending unit, need to check behind gauge. Odometer is still on the list.
2) Buy a gel-core battery
3) New gear lube (second grinds if you don't double clutch at high RPM)
4) Re-wrap sunvisors
5) Clean up overspray on trim from a lackluster prep job from the PO's body guy
6) Refinish wheels
7) Alignment and balance (including fixing a small bend in one of the front wheels
8) Weld in some reinforcement in the front subframe (?) where the battery acid collected and ate through the 'square' metail under the boot
9) Find which bushing in the front is causing a 'pop' sound when making hard left turns, then replacing that set
10) Sand, cut, and buff
11) Restore/replace body mouldings (rubber, sunroof, etc...)
12) Fix the sunroof!
13) New window regulators and levers/***** (It's a PITA rolling them up and down with no *****...)Fixed the regulator, still need the *****.
14) Reposition/adhere the rubber on the whale tail as it's separating from the metal on the driver's sideIn process. Rubber has been removed and the old rusted metal gutted from it. Still debating on what to use to finish the job.
15) Possibly tint
16) Have the radio wiring cleaned up by my stereo guy. Whoever put the aftermarket radio wiring in was either Helen Keller or someone who idolized her.
17) Replace the professionally taped up heather hose in the engine bay (can be seen in the pictures) Doing a heater back-date this coming week, along with #18 below
18) Oil/filter/plugs/wires/cap/rotor. Car runs great right now, but it wouldn't hurt to have a nice, documented baseline. Parts are all in the mail, will get started on it this coming Thursday and early next week. Will also be checking cam chain tensioners, valve adjustment, valve cover gaskets.
19) Fix the passenger's side mirror motor or connections. Driver's side works great, but the other side is manual only right now.
20) Adjust/ tighten the seat brackets and rails. They're a little sloppy.
21) Remove the PO's aftermarket alarm. It's not active anyway. Can only clean up the wiring in the cabin and the engine bay. Will likely be trying this when I do everything else throughout the next week.
22) Remove/clean/paint engine bay components Will be happening with everything else in the next week as well.
To add to the list with easy and inexpensive upgrade:
1) Turbo tie-rods
2) OEM short shift kit
3) Oil cooler scoop
4) Gradually go through suspension and replace the 35 year old rubber... Everywhere. I've pretty much settled on ER PBs, so this will get pricey. Can't wait for Christmas!

Dave nailed it,..like a novel !!!!!! (although i wouldn't dare want to dramatize a response to the OP.....)
Now that the "cash" is looking to happen by years' end, I'm going to do the following:
AS TO COSMETICS:
Full repaint-Glasurit (windows-out, down-to-the-metal).
New windshield
New dash (factory)
Complete interior redo (carpet, headliner, seats, gauges, rear seating area redo-complete, door panels
ALL new rubber-related parts will be replaced (and that's a bunch!)
New front spoiler
rework the sunroof
Install an upgrade AC kit to fix this poor factory AC system
Pretty much all out on the cosmetics,...I'll spare nothing in getting her back to showroom condition, on this excursion,....the timing has worked out perfectly,..and, of course , she's running just fine!!! Well cared-for, on the mechanical side.
AS TO MECHANICALS:
She'll get a fresh set of sneakers in Nov/Dec,..plan to rid my popping sound by exchanging the steering box,..will go ahead and load the turbo tie-rods,.....she'll then get a nice 4 wheel alignment and corner balance
I'm finding it a bit complicated inscheduling these tasks in the proper order.....since I know my respray should get started by this years' end, I'm leaning towards ensuring the mechanicals are perfect BEFORE bringing it in to the body shop..
I'm looking to hand this off to Holt Wheels , Atlanta,..anyone have experience with them?
,..sorry to be dramatic,..(ahem....) VERY excited at what's gonna' be going down SOON!!!!!!!!
BEST to all!

When I think about, it gives me a headache.
My F 150 has a squeak in the dash, near the right side airbag cover, that drives me nuts.
My 914 engine needs to be put back together, and installed/tuned. The engine will be the fun part, cleaning the engine compartment and replacing the engine tin/shroud seals will suck. I found a correct jack for the car, but it needs to be painted.
My 911 is, well, really sweet. The w/washers don't work, but I don't care. The car hasn't been out in about six weeks, I better charge its battery tomorrow.
My wife's '08 Benz is brilliant, and has just been serviced and had new rear tires installed.
The lawn tractor is running good, but needs an oil change. Just figured out how to put new trimmer line in the gas-engine weed whacker. So, cross that one off.
