Measley things for July/August:
replace oil pressure sending unit*
tune up
valve lash adjustment
oil change
replace headlight push/pull switch
remove door drivers door card and rebuild alarm keyway and fix loose clips
* can that sender be changed from above or is it strictly an underneath job?

AS TO MECHANICALS:
She'll get a fresh set of sneakers in Nov/Dec,..plan to rid my popping sound by exchanging the steering box,..will go ahead and load the turbo tie-rods,.....she'll then get a nice 4 wheel alignment and corner balance
I'm finding it a bit complicated inscheduling these tasks in the proper order.....since I know my respray should get started by this years' end, I'm leaning towards ensuring the mechanicals are perfect BEFORE bringing it in to the body shop.

Near term:
Finish rebuilding the doors
Install the factory short shift kit & get rid of the weltmeister that came with the car
shift coupler bushings
new shift ****
Longer term:
Battery tray rust repair
new turbo valence
full respray
New dash & windshield

Hi all. First post on Rennlist.
I've only had my '86 911 for about a month. It's got 113K on it. The drive train, brakes, and cosmetics are all in good shape. But anything involving rubber is in the process of getting replaced.
What I've done so far, or am in the process of doing:
Changed oil, trans fluid
Replaced air, fuel filters
Replaced PCV valve and sleeve
Swapping out DOT headlights for H4s and city lights
Replacing leaking taillight seals
Removed inop rear wiper
Removed inop A/C
Repairing oil pressure sending unit
Fixed dome light switch in driver's door
Repair seat release *****
Up next:
Replacing tie rods, shocks and suspension bushings (having this done at a shop)
Replacing clutch cable
Rebuilding pedal cluster (new bushings)
Replacing shift coupler, updating shifter with Wevo or similar
Figure out why radio doesn't work
Replace hood struts/install prop rod
Valve adjustment/silicone valve cover gaskets
The list seems to grow every week, but it's fun having lots of projects to work on!

I'm so proud of this little thread...all grown up!
My driver's seat has a few rips and some of the carpeting in my driver's side footwell is out. Definitely something I'll leave to a pro...it'll happen this winter.
