That car looks like it's getting an IV drip.

I like your doggy and your 930 S steering wheel!

Funny you mention these items. My pad was totally disintegrating. Cam lines were weeping as well. So was my oil pressure 'idiot' light, thus the motor came out and did ALL that stuff at once.

Word of Caution - When replacing the cam lines, we ordered once, twice, THREE TIMES a 'correct' cam line (via the correct part number) that was 1 inch too short. FINALLY found someone at Porsche who recognized this problem and got us the 'right' one.

So just make sure you measure against your old one. There's obviously two different lengths out there.

To be done...
  1. Buff entire car
  2. Pull front carpet, detail trunk
  3. Install rear seat straps (leather)
  4. Finish detailing interior

This should keep me busy for awhile. Last step is ENJOY IT.
Finally got the car back. Runs like a champ. I mean, just superbly. Not a hint of hesitation in running (valves had gotten out of adjustment) , not a drip to be found, not a grain of junk from the stupid sound pad. Looks nice and tidy (see other thread on engine out detail).

Once home, finished up the interior. Repainted my Targa bar. Replaced a door seal (d. side). Got the paintless dent dude over and he pulled about 4 that were driving me nuts. Buffed the car all over. Also got my driving lights working again. I'm really enjoying this car.

Thanks for the tip on the oil cam line length. I had no idea that there were different sizes. I may just order both sizes and return the ones that do not fit.

Glad to see this thread getting some traction...three pages!

Got a new convertible top last month.

I want to check the injectors and cat before ordering a Steve Wong chip.

Bearing noise in the transmission...that needs looking at...not really a "little thing" I fear.

She's running pretty good; had the top down for the first time this season!

I think I've got myself in a pickle with the turbo conversion so here's my list of things.

recently completed:

3.3 turbo installed
new tail installed last night (pics coming)
rear reflector and taillights refreshed
chin spoiler installed
LED dash lights

To do:

repaint tail to match
930 brakes upgrade
suspension upgrade
bigger wheels
clean underside
detail exterior
make more dough to pay for list

Having a lot of fun with this car.

Not many on Ruby-close to oil change time and need to install the Stage 8 CV fasteners still. The 993 got a new drive bearing installed in the rear spoiler drive mechanism and two new cabin pollen filters today.

Not sure about the 89' but the 86' stock bushings (front) are pretty tough. I am right on the fence of not even changing mine and they are a million years old....maybe the squeak is from somewhere else? (strut, sway bar?)

My '85 needs a brake bleed, small leak when it pours around my sunroof and windshield (just don't drive it in rain). Other then that, just drive it more this year.
