Feeler: Possible for sale. 89 speedster.
I can't believe I'm doing this but I was thinking of selling my 89 speedster. I just don't drive her anymore.
Red/tan
about 19k miles.
Excellent condition.
All stock.
Bought from Newport Beach Porsche in 1999.
Can you guys help me price the car. How much do you guys think its worth?
thanks.

I'm not an expert on pricing, but you're probably well in to the $30k range on this one. As much as I think these cars are meant to be driven, finding one with 19k for the last year of the 3.2 in drop-top form probably means that someone could hold this beauty as an investment strategy. Does that give you anything to think about?

I disagree. We've discussed garage queens umpteen times here there and everywhere, and we know to be wary of all the hidden and expensive problems an unused car has in store for the next buyer.
No, I think this is a ticking time bomb. Beauty is at least skin deep, to be sure, but this patient is sure to have systemic disease. Clogged arteries, gaskets, and doohickies galore just waiting to inflict thousands in repair costs to the buyer who is caught unawares.
There are, however, two pieces of good news. First, you are right, though for the wrong reasons, to recognize you need to get out of this sucking vortex of insatiable expenditure. Second, I'll magnanimously take it off your hands, sight unseen, for $13, 500. And i'll come and get it myself. Next week.
No need to thank me for this.

+1 at beginning at 60K, Auto Trader has them listed between $57k and 75K, so I'm thinking your somewhere at the top with 19K miles.... Keep it , it's too pretty to sell...

That's one seriously beautiful car, it looks brand new. I would keep it but if you really want to sell I would also put some adds in European magazines/websites with the present euro/dollar exchange rate.

That was a brilliant work of art. Nice negotiating tactics!

Definitely north of $55K, though mid $60s is probably the target price.
Beautiful car. If I had the funds, I would add that car to my garage in a second.
(Are you really sure that you want to sell it? Just DRIVE it morein that sunny SoCal weather!)

Yeah, Thanks Justin, but, not seeing an eager PM in my box from drnd, I don't think he's goin' for it. I think I was just a little too eager when suggesting I' come get it myself immediately. That mightta just tipped him off. And I suppose my offer, it turns out, is a bit of a low-ball.
I'm not much for convertibles, but I sure do like the looks of that one.

Thanks for all your inputs. I know I will probably regret it someday but I just don't drive it enough to keep it in the garage. I'm going to take it to TRE Motorsports for it's annual service and than I'll probably list it. If I can get anywhere between 58k to 65k I will be happy.
WitchDoctor, sorry but your offer was tempting until other rennlister's chine in with there inputs.
