Ed, Were they able to repair the pin holes, or was it a new cooler for you? I suspect there's an art to cooler repair.

They repaired....alll in the same R&R price of $175 or so. The company's main business was aircraft engine coolers, so I figured I'd be in good hands.

Cool. What do you do when your airplane blows it's oil cooler mid flight? I can't see redundancy in the oil circuit.

That's why you practice dead stick landings?

Is that technical jargon for "controlled crash"? My cousin pilots helicopters, he had to simulate an engine failure and land safely i n training.

My clutch, TO bearing, pressure plate, and flywheel arrived today!

I want to give a Thank You mention and a hearty recommendation to Erik at The Race Line for his help getting the parts to me.
Very helpful, and super price. A great source for Porsche parts.

All you need is a case of Stella...
DON'T forget the starter ring gear on the flywheel. It is very disappointing to get the motor in the car and turn the key only to find the starter ring gear sitting on the bench.

Thank you!! I have a long long list of projects now, and the 911 is pushed further and further out. Do you guys re-use the rollpin for the release fork? I didn't see the pin in my parts order from SGS Porsche, who I also ordered a bunch of parts from.

I can't remember what I did either. It's splined, so the pin just holds it together. You should find an assortment of pins at a hardware store. Don't listen to me though...I'll go look at PET and refresh myself here.

I know OSH has many pins. I used a hardened one in the door stay to quiet the loud snapping sound from the factory pin.

It will probably be ok to re-use the old one. I'm **** about that kind of thing though.

I'm like that too. If there's a replacement part available, send me one. That's why I've got the $ equivalent of a nice 80's Carrera sitting in the back of Ruby, under the engine lid.

And I still have a car of minimal value...could be hookers and drugs instead.

Hi I am all ears about that drain plug issue. Have stuck drain and fill plugs on my 80 SC. trans. I have been waiting for an up coming engine drop to address this, My plugs aren't as bad as you describe yours rusnak. But a three foot breaker bar didn't do the trick with the car on a up on a hoist. So I'll try to stay tuned. I have not posted much here, Hang out on Pelican, as Tevake. Have you search there for ideas?

Cheers Richard
