I love this car. Are you happy with the silver spokes on the wheel? Is that a Nardi? I'm thinking of going the same route to offset the totally black interior. Silver pedals and silver Rennsport door pulls. Don't think I'm going with the silver bezels, though.

Default Yikes! Talk about sour grapes...

... and very OLD ones at that.

Some people are just a little crazy.

Happy with the silver spokes on the wheel. It is more brushed aluminum look and not chrome which is what I wanted. It matches the Rennline bits very well. It is the MOMO retro wheel with the zuffenhaus hub. My only complaint about the wheel is that the grip is thinner than my old recovered OEM wheel.

To be clear....he initially was ready to purchase the car (his 1st Porsche) over the phone. I refused to sell it until and unless he agreed to have a local Porsche Specialist perform a PPI. They did and found nothing. I myself bought that more than 20yr old car with over 100K miles in Seattle and also had a PPI. Neither shop caught that a fender had been replaced (both shops are still to this day highly regarded Porsche exclusive race & service facilities). It makes no sense that I would force a full PPI on a perspective buyer and deliberately not disclose it. The Carfax did not show it either and regardless I for one would still have bought it. Just look at the photos - the car looked perfect to me and again...this guy jumped in and literally drove it 5K miles with only an oil change in preparation. Unbelievable.

Here...in his own words nearly 13 years ago.

So you posted a PM? That may earn you a time out. Hope it does.

I also love this car. Nice to see some history here, given Jake owned it, and that I was once a part of the air-cooled crowd. But most impressive is how good it looks today, still looking like new and a classic at the same time

Speaking of good looking cars.... Whatever happened to Matt? Last word was that he was flying tankers for the Canadian Air Force.

Good question - I'd love to find out. Let's track him down!

Default Time Out?

I don't know what your message means, Amber Gramps, please explain. I thought a private message was a private message. What does a time out have to do with it, and for whom?

Jordan, I searched my PM's and emails in two accounts as I had hoped to have a record of my informing you I had found the replacement fender. No luck. As I recall your response was a curt "You had it inspected."

I take responsibility for interpreting your curt response as an indication of your pre-knowledge of the flaw. Had you expressed surprise or something like "My God, I had no idea, had I known I would have told you" I would have let it go. I just decided to drop it at the time because in point of fact you were correct.

If you actually did not know, then I publicly apologize. I've been a clinical social worker for 42 years and being precise in both the emotional and factual aspects of communication has been my stock and trade. But many people do not consider nuance when they speak.

I had a couple beers in me when I wrote the PM and a nagging resentment got released. I see in retrospect that was a stupid mistake.

That car affected me deeply and I guess it still does. I apologize to the Rennlist community. I have made my last comment to or about Flat 6.

Too many bar fly drama queens on a tech forum for my liking lately.
Pelican tech forum is the place to hang out these days.
