Default I really love my Targa

I have been able to drive my targa lately.. and the weather has been friggin perfect..top off.. for a while I was thinking I should have gone with the coupe.. man I am glad I didnt.. I dont do any racing or anything..so thats not an issue.. just cruising.. and gosh darn it I love it. Targa's apparently are not the prefered version to most but man it is fun!

Rob
I drove one for the first time last year. Had a blast, and had I not found the coupe I have now at the price I did I would have picked one up. Glad to hear youre having a blast.

Well okay ... since you want one so bad I'll trade you my 78 Targa for your 997 .... but only if you throw in a few bucks ...

When I was shopping for my car, the only style I looked at was the Targa. It took about six months and many cars, but I found the perfect car. Like you, I love it. It's fun and I think it looks great.

Damn, I was almost ready to accept this deal until I realized you were from Canada.

Canadians...or as my brother likes to call us, seal bashers. I think you can probably get past the Canadian aspect if you drink a lot and close your eyes.

Iceman...Im glad I saw this pic or next summer I would have wasted a lot of time on the 401 looking for the hockeystick shock. Looks good. Say does that plate protector do any good on the 407 or against the photoradar gnomes?

don't know .. I have a transponder.. and so far I have been left alone.. it was the way I bent it in that worried me ... front plates SUCK and look awful.

but wait . In the true Porsche spirit I have advanced my technology to the next level . In the sake of geting things lighter and at the same time stonger ... I have a patent on my design and manufacturing techniques as well as the materials involved ala Carerra GT.... I now have a graphite hockey stick ... I just hope it doesn't explode the way Mats' does .. :-)

Iceman
try this on for size, it has worked for me "yes sir/ma'am, I understand that a front plate is required, however when they shop I use was working on car, they lost the plate assmbly etc and Im waiting for the part from germany etc etc....Love the fact that we are taxed to death and our elected officials loose money in the billions, but we sooooo need two plates. ooops. sorry for the rant.
Short and sweet: Lie. Loose the plate. Be happy. Or maybe a round euro plate? hmmmm. I watch for exploded sticks and such...at least Ill know youre still on the road.

LOL! Exactly!. I've only been stopped three or four times in ten years for no front plates but I always use the same excuse, play on the myth of unreasonably expensive euro parts. "sorry officer the bracket got bent and a replacement is $150 from Germany etc etc", It helps to keep the old plate within reach so you can look sincere.
