Targa's are cool
Can't wait till spring. It's just F'n cold up here. When is it going to warm up? I can't hardly remember what it was like in the P-Car. Summers seam really short since aquiring the P-car.

targas are unique. When I take the top off I feel as i was riding a bike(with a rear motor, and 4 wheels, and doors, and foot pedals, and... you get the idea).

I love mine too except:
When it's humid and the gauges all cloud up.
When it rains and my lap gets wet.
When it rains hard and the engine starts missing.
When its ~ 40° and it takes a few miles to get the cabin warm.
When its ~ 30° and it takes more miles before it gets warm.
When its ~ 20° and it takes >20 miles, a fleece jacket, and gloves to stay warm
When its < 20° ?. Pray for a short trip.
But when its 70°, dry and the top is off? You couldn't give me a coupe. or cab. Nothing comes close.

'86 Hotrod Targa for Sale
The good stuff:
993 V ram-low miles, rebuilt 915 with internal spray bar and oil cooler, $4,300 worth of new Turbo brakes from our host with steel brake lines and Pagid orange pads, dual oil cooler with fan, top rebuilt 3 mos ago by Cars Inc, original Fuchs in good shape, BBS 3-piece on the car now (7.5's & 9's), new windshield and seal 6 mos ago, new ball joints, new bilsteins, new turbo tie rods, new sway bar bushings, polybronze front and rear, new style rear sway bar mounts, new sport motor mounts, weltmeister strut brace, no rust anywhere. Very fast car. Mechanically excellent.
The bad:
one crack in dashpad on driver's side, took out the A/C completely, driver's seat bolster has small rip, carpets stained, front has numerous rock pits in paint, glovebox door delaminated, one ding in passenger side rear fender lip, a couple of minor scratches in paint.
FREE COOL CAN with sale of vehicle!!! Excellent conversation piece.
If no one wants it, I'll just continue to smoke I-55 to work and back. Makes going to work fun.

I just use the passanger side heat & I am fine with a light jacket.
I have no leaks and the engine ran fine during a tropical storm.

Reg,
Keeping the Targa in garage really helps on the cold winter nights.
I usually drive the VW when it's really cold out since the Targa's motor will not warm up enough by the time I get to work on the 8 mile commute.

Thank you, the PO did all the work, I wrote a check (actually wire transfer) and benefitted from all his work and money invested.
The chin spoiler is a real RUF one the front and rear bumpers are RUF knockofs from BW Motorsports.
The rims are 17" Fikse FM-10s 7.5 and 9.
I drove it to work on Thursday last week and we got some really hard rain which meant it rained inside my car too. I wish they sealed up just a bit better. I get leaks at the top of the fixed windows on the doors.

I agree. I have but a single car garage so I normally park my Explorer inside since it is the daily driver. Snow, rain, cold weather - no problem. Up goes the garage door and out I come. We also have ice storms here in Va. and if its not 4WD, AWD or front wheel drive forget it.
I can bide my time. Spring is coming.

We have been fortunate this winter in Raleigh to only have two snow events that melted by the end of the day.
