Iceman,

That is a beautiful photo of your car.

I like the looks of it with the chrome vent window trim and door handles.

I really need to start looking for a tail to put on my Targa, only if my wife agreed with my vision

I remember you had some issues with the new rim's last year, everything dialed in now?

I would be willing (a sacrifice I know) to trade you straight across for the car shown in your avatar...

Thanks,

Me too.

I went back in time to find my favorite car of all time.

1988 with 13K miles. Oh why oh why didn't I suck it up and buy one back then...

Awesome Targa. I was VERY close to being a Targa owner as well. Just something about the flat top look of a Porsche Targa is just sooo sweet. Good job!

I'll never sell my targa unless I have to, but the coupes are timeless. Throw in some Recaro's, a momo wheel and some nice rims on a coupe and it is 'ageless'.

I love my Targa, especially because the sunroofs are so small.

However, a switch that quickly shuts the top when my cell phone rings on the highway would be helpful. A glass targa 993 with a 3.6 and a 5 speed may be in my future.

Thanks Guys

I actually have a broken frame in the garage so it could work if I stick the plate in the broken frame under the seat...hmm...
As far as the chrome all round goes, this is what makes me think my car may have had a chrome or stainless targa hoop at one time. There actually is no metal trim on the front windsheild. It looks like it was removed and never replaced. The back is in fact Black. I have tried to trace my car to get some original pics but there are a few numbered companies it its history and this makes it really difficult.
As far as the wheels go I never did get her squared away. The wheels I have with the offsets I have just will not tuck under without rolling the rims. I am set at -1.5 degrees all round and do not want to go more . My old rears tucked fine but the new ones don't tuck on front or rear. I just drive much more conservatively than I used to over rises and dips.
Tire rack did call me as the new I had an issue to their credit but it was just way too much hassle dealing with shipping and the borders etc. I was just a little surprised that their web site info was not quite right. Oh well I have moved on from that.
Right now I have the seats out in pieces... don't really know what I am doing .. but I do have about 2 months to figure it out ...

I would feel awful robbing you both of the unique targa experience that you've grown to love and enjoy.

And Paul, I love the color of your car.

When I was shopping to buy a Porsche over 1.5 years ago I was looking at any body style trying not to tie myself down. All I wanted was a nice example of one. After 3 failed PPI's I finally found this one. I live in florida too and the weather here lately has made for perfect Targa out driving. I am glad I decided upon one now.

I sold my SC targa back in 2002 b/c it needed A LOT of work (thought it was a great college car prior to that!). I have been fortunate enought to add to the PCar stable, but still miss the rawness of that SC. My buddy has a mint 89 targa and I will be going on a road trip with him in a few weeks to move the car from Nashville to Charlotte over a weekend (blue ridge mountains + tail of the dragon = porsche motoring euphoria)... That will only make it worse! Damn, I want a targa again... Just not sure if I want the 3.2 or the SC... leaning towards the SC...

Still envious of you targa owners...

Yep, they sure are fun on a nice, sunny day. Here is shot of our longhood Targa.

PS I have since lowered the front and put H4 headlights on the car.
