Sure enough the battery had a 90 degree bend vent fitting, but no vent tube. I also noticed a small accumulation of acidic dust in the area.
I am going to follow your suggestions about the tube routing. I will have to fit in this install in a day or so.
Thanks for your write up.

Hey guys, sorry about the pictures. I took some on Monday and was all set to send them to a fellow poster who offered to post them for me.
The camera was borrowed from a friend and he forgot to bring the disc to load the software onto my office computer. I was out of the office today. So I'm shooting to get the pictures sent out Wednesday.
I assure you that the car is real and is a sweet ride.

OK, finally got the pictures sent to another member here. He should post them later today.
Take a look at them and let me know what you think. I put some text in with the photos to explain them. Hopefully it will all make sense.

David,
if it was me you sent them to- they didn't make it! If they are huge, send them one at a time- your favorite first.

David,
no problem. Like I said, send them one at a time. That way at least I'll get the first ones. I'll resize and post them. This is the most anticipation I've seen around these parts in a long time!
Cheers,
Paul.

I just resent the pictures to Paul. If he is still up hopefully he'll post them tonight. I'll post some info about the car and the photos after they are posted.

Well guys, what do you think? I should have done a shot of the battery area as well because it looks as new. No acid damage or staining at all. Car has full unused toolkit. I think when I opened the tool kit pouch it was the first time it was opened. Also have the spare tire pump and related tire changing items.( hand wipes, mats, bag to put removed wheel in,etc.)
There are no door dings at all, just a very minor chip or two on a mirror and hood. There is a small area of scratches on the roof centered in front of sunroof opening. Very minor and I feel that I can minimize them with a bit of polish and wax.
No corrosion anywhere. Even the motor mount plate in the rear of engine compartment is still covered in the original black paint with no surface rust at all. The under-caridge is clean, just has normal road film and dirt. You can rub the dirt off a bolt head and it still has the factory plating with no corrosion on it.
The interior is about perfect. No stains in leather. Still smells new...that great heavenly aroma of leather. Car was never smoked in. Carpet is stain free and plush. Just a couple of very small scuff marks on the drivers seat and drivers door pocket edge from entering/exiting car. Pedal box area is clean and debris free. There was one floor mat on drivers side. I'm getting a set of Lloyd's mats soon. Probably get the mats in the same color as carpet with black Carrera lettering.
All I need to do is just really give it a full detailing to bring it all the way back. Then just enjoy it. I know the miles will pile up but its so low now that they will always be on the low side. I figure I will be adding 5,000 miles a year if that. Car will need a 15K service soon.
I can do more photos outside when the weather clears and warms up a bit. Got the car home just before our first snow/salt. That was close.
Any other questions just ask.
Hope you guys get as much of a kick out of this as I did.
