Couple little efforts today

tang was featured in a pic on petrolicious next to this stunning signal yellow g series.

Installed official stickers on new old plate
replaced wiper arms and blades from auto foreign service. These are reps as the current factory parts now don’t have the right bow or look. These look right.
Soterik on early s i believe. He sells them on eBay. I also have his horn grills and driving lights.

The car looks great!
Is the drivers side wiper hitting the window trim?
Also, how is the engine build going? I don't know if you seen but there is a 2.7 engine on Bringatrailer

No it’s not hitting. Engine build? Lol. It’s in line :-)
that engine the guy had it in pelican and was asking silly $
id rather build it and know what I’m building. The engine seems to be a hodgepodge of parts

**** oh i learned something new

my wipers actually work. And so does the intermittent. Nice!

now to get the rear defrost light working. The wires in the glass i believe are toast....

the ocd in me wants to fix it. It’s the only thing that doesn’t work on the car.

When you rebuild the 2.7 motor I highly recommend you replace the CIS components with EFI/ITB’s that would give it the old school minimalist retro vibe that would look so right on your ELH. I did that on the 85 3.2 Carrera motor transplant in my 73 Gem Blue coupe and have absolutely no regrets. Just love the look and the improved performance specs. Here’s a pic for inspiration.

Very nice. Oh yeah as soon as motor gets torn down the exhaust and full induction system are going on pelican for sale. Won’t use any of it! It will be full efi itb dual coil on plug etc.

is that a PMO setup? Which efi / ecu did you use?

Great to hear. Yes PMO’s with AEM Infinity and full wiring harness from Andrew at Rasant https://rasantproducts.com/. Al Kosmal at X Faktory did the install. https://www.x-faktory.com/about.html

Good to know. We are between Motec M1 and AEM, shop are experts on both. Wiring we may have Andrew do it (he's just down street from us). Shop also has a tech that does amazing harness work. Induction we're looking at a few options. Andrew is making his own induction, PMO is an option, and also looking at Kinsler:
https://kinsler.com/Shop/product/porsche-itb/

Engine will get torn down looks like next week, then off to machining. Then we start to order parts.

Goal is complete before Luft hahaha. seems like a long time. It's sept now, consider machine work takes 3mo, ordering parts and all the coating work now. That gets us all parts ready in January about, assembly and install in January, Feb, break in, tuning, Feb/March. See?

Nice options. I went with the PMO set up because they look just carbs to keep with the old school look I was after. Sounds like a nice build any way you go.

today Tang got an oil and filter change. These red purolator filters don’t fit my wrench like the mahles....

also adjusted front wheel bearing lash was a bit loose.

new fan belt

tires filled, torqued with new anti seize.

doing some canyon driving Thursday with this and my 964 with some friends.

the core is pretty good so far! Nice motor as the ancillaries are mostly off.
