The price is nice and it would be good to have, but I can't bring myself to purchase something from someone who's disingenuous.

I'd like to take a moment to thank my supporters for alerting me to this thread. I don't post or look at this anymore, but occasionally people want me to respond to the peanut gallery. First, to the shyte talkers, you'd better hope you never need a 3.6 case, because your options are few and none. Really easy for you keyboard commandos to chime in on something you really don't know about. Which is a nice segue into what we are experiencing.
First of all, any of you can pick up the phone and call Rothsport and ask Jeff his opinion on my case. He will tell you the straight dope, and it isn't all in my favor. I do recall when this last round of Porsche factory cases came out, Jeff called me and said that Porsche was making them again. But he also said he'd rather have mine, because the Porsche case, even though brand new, had all of the same problems that it has ever had, and he was looking for a solution to those problems, which my cases solved.
So as we developed what is now the Mark 6 case (can be air or water cooled), Jeff has been critical to the testing and engineering of this case. He has thoroughly reviewed our products and provided detailed feedback. And we make all of the changes he says to make, because I am not certain that anyone in the country knows more about these motors than he does.
The problem, however, is that when he tells us to change something, even something minor, that requires new tools, changing the program, and lots of issues with processes. It is not easy, because we simply can't do one off design changes. Cutting something once is easy. Cutting something 1000 times requires forethought, planning, and often, expensive new tools.
For those of you who haven't bought - I don't care what you think. You have no idea how difficult and complicated this project is.
For those of you who have bought - and I have constantly missed your projected completion date - know that we are trying the best we can to get you the most amazing case possible. But we only want to make it once, and we don't want errors, and we want to incorporate everything that Jeff Gamroth has told us, because he has taken a ton of time to make our product better, and he has done all of this on his own, unpaid, and without us asking. Because he believes in us.
I met with Adam early on in his endeavor to reproduce an engine case with incorporating fixes that are needed. I told him this is a huge project and that will take much longer (to get it right) than anyone would or could estimate. So much work goes into getting castings to flow and cure correctly, even the simpler castings. Then countless iterations of refining the tool path work. My congrats to Adam for sticking with it and continuing to push for greatness with this product!!
That is a beautiful case. We all want everything yesterday, that is how we have been conditioned ever since the Internet became our lifeline. But in real life stuff takes time-especially great stuff. Great work on these beautiful cases.

I know we are all eagerly awaiting cases from Chris. I can't wait to see the finished product. I know lead times are long, but we are planning on stocking these cases and have multiple ones on order with Chris. We'll send out a email to our customers when they are in-stock and ready to ship.

I am only mentioning it because I do fly.
Some of you might have heard of Avidyne Avionics.
In 2008 I paid a $$$ deposit on a new designed IFD540 Radio/Nav/GPS that was to replace the dated GNS530 that Garmin is due to curtail support of.
The radio was supposed to be out in 2010.
I was one of the 1st depositors.
I got my radio in early 2015.
It was totally worth the wait.
This case looks like "Singer" quality.
Like Singer these look like a piece of jewelry!
Be glad that Adam is "Doing the right thing" by working out all the bugs as well as making the corrections to have these work for a number of applications that will allow us to take these cars into the next century.

I am happy Adam finally made a product that works and his customers are finally seeing cases. This is a huge step for the future of these cars and the enthusiast. I wish him the best.
I wasn't going to comment but I find your comment to be a bit of an exaggeration. I agree it takes much more knowledge and experience to make a quality casting than any layman could comprehend. Any good foundry should have had no issues making this properly from day one. I am glad he found a foundry that can do the job but I still have issues with the surface finish. I admit the material looks to be of the proper purity and machines nicely. I would prefer to see a case destruct tested per the material spec to see what the mechanical properties actually are.
