I am making reproduction Porsche engine cases!

Sounds like you have explored this pretty well! I only mentioned it because when I was constantly active on Rennlist, I started to publish a Calendar featuring Porsches owned by List members. Before I committed any funds, I asked Porsche about it and they said they own the design of the cars they built (except Race cars) and since they produce several calendars they would not allow me to publish.
BTW, I wonder what happens to the people like URO who manuf parts and then Porsche starts making them again. Does URO stop? Hmm.
I wish you continued success with these cases! It sounds like they will be well rec'd!

I reached out to him several times trying to offer free advice from my three generations of accumulated knowledge making far more critical parts but wouldn't hear of it. I watched in disbelief initially, but when he took $280k in deposits than completely changed the casting process without testing per the specs??? I could be wrong but suspect he hit a wall of issues with that.
He is still listed as a site sponsor so I will leave it at that but not sure how he could turn a profit at the selling price. Might try contacting IB and see if he is still an active site supporter and what if anything they can do to help.
I hope it isn't health or patent issues and he gets things resolved so you get your cases. Although, I would have them tested per the MIL/ASTM specs prior to using them.

I didn’t order a case but was inquiring about doing so- no response so I figured he was busy taking care of the business he already has or was impacted by Covid. Adam last logged on this site 8/26 so hopefully he’ll check in soon and clear this up.

I previously suggested that it was strange, after spending so much out of pocket, to ask for deposits before he actually had a running prototype...he seemed so close to doing so that any influx of money didn't seem required. I was quickly lambasted by him and some others who wanted to see the project happen...I too, would have liked to see it happen..it was more of a cautionary comment for others to read into..as I have seen stuff like this tank before.
He was on the site as recently as 8/25 (or someone with his account) - so hopefully he will pop in with good news when he reads the concerns.

Latest post from the parallel thread on Pelican:
^ So I switched foundries. Was having way too many issues with the foundry not meeting deadlines. They put out good work, but the time schedule was really, really bad. In their defense, COVID really kicked their collective butts what with shut downs and other issues.
Our new foundry is the same place where Vortech, Paxton, and Magnusson make their blower castings as well as a ton of other automotive castings. This is the place the case should have been in the beginning, and they totally understand auto castings.
There are several cases shipped already. Jeff Gamroth has one and is building a short block out of it this week.

I emailed with Adam about six weeks ago. He assured me that I would be getting a case that would be better than the original one he had been working on. So I know that there are some changes, I don’t know the full extent, but again he assured me that all is well. Thanks

I am glad he switched foundries. Despite his assurance that the first foundry did good work I watched the video and was appalled by what I saw.
