Default Monterey Historics 2010

I had such a nice time at the Historics last year that I decided to do it again for 2010. It looks like Bugatti is the featured marque, but that doesn't really matter because I'm sure there will be some great cars there regardless. Last year I missed the Concorso Italiano so I booked tickets to it this year. Anyone else going?

Jason-- Luv to, but doubt I'll have much fun on the schedule 'til late 2010, when I hope to finish night school ...hopefully right before life is breathed back into the Rocky Mountain Concours d'Elegance at the Broadmoor (I'm a dreamer)

Is this meant to imply that Bugatti is not a great mark?

I will be at the Historics for sure, but I don't attend the Concorso.

Wish there was more coverage though.

Jason, I am 99% sure I will be there again, at least at Laguna Seca.
The Italian thing sounds good too

That's not what I said... Name 5 Bugatti models... I thought so... They built some beautiful cars that had technology way ahead of their time but they stopped racing well before most of us were even born... They're no PORSCHE!!!

OT: Did you also watch that Eric Bana documentary afterwards? I thought it was pretty good, but he never gave any details about the 993 look racecar he was running.

I'll be there again this year. I'm happy it's Bugatti as when they feature a low volume marque there is usually a greater diversity of club representation in the corrals.

Also looking forward to Rennsport Reunion!!

On my radar . . . wish I would have caught the Porsche marque event last year. Appreciated all the Rennlist reporters / photogs last year. Also thinking of Goodwood and Nurburg track school, but can't swing all three in one year.

Have they announced a date for the Rennsport Reunion?

We are going this year. We went to the Italiano last year and it was great! I highly suggest the buffet lunch option. Great food. I missed the Rennsport event and the Concor De Lemon. I want to get to both this year!

I just confirmed my lodging in Carmel a couple weeks ago, will be up there Aug 12th - 16th (can't wait.) I did not hit the Concorso last year but it is on my list for this trip. I also plan on hitting the Pebble Beach concours (have never been) which I know will be crowded and over priced, but it's kind-of a "bucket-list" event if you know what I mean.

Didn't meet up with any Rennlisters last year other than chatting with Speedster-boy Jaeger before the parade lap on Sunday. Hopefully there will a bunch of us up there.

I just booked at the Monterey Marriott for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. We need to start planning a get together early (ASAP) due to many other bookings at local restaurants... Anyone want to be in charge???

My sentiment exactly. I've been going to this weekend for almost 20 years and have burned out on most everything other than the Historics. The races will be interesting this year because it will be the first time without Steve Earl and his mafia at the helm.
