Spyder RS driving/ownership impressions

Beautiful spec
how did the top fare in all that driving. Been debating on driving out west in mine instead of shipping but didn’t know if it could handle the weather changes.

Happy to.
I've done 1,400 miles on my car throughout the Rockies. I have nothing new to offer on the driving impressions that hasn't been discussed on here countless times other than to say that I absolutely love it.
The spec is:
The color sits somewhere between Lava Orange and Guards Red, depending on lighting conditions and camera settings. In person, it almost always reads orange (almost), and is best described as Lava Orange without any of the salmon pink. It makes Gulf and Pastel orange look very, very yellow in comparison.

The spec is:
- Blood Orange via the PTS Plus program
- Satin Aluminum wheels
- Matching Satin Aluminum decals
- Pebble Grey stitching
- Painted hood
- Non-RS taillights (to bring in some silver elements to complement the silver trim throughout the car) from Europe (to blink amber)
- Heritage RS crest decal for the hood and Heritage colored crests for the wheel caps
- Custom seat inserts from Rstrada

The top is fine with weather changes. It's only one layer so there is more wind noise than an insulated top, but I have had no issues driving in cooler weather with rain or the hot sun. I even drove through a bad rain storm with just the bimini up and found that it does a decent job keeping water out even when stopped in a torrential down pour. Now if the wind shifted and blew from the back to the front of the car I'm sure more water would have come in but basically the only thing wet was the "wings" they left on from the Spyder on each corner of the car by the back of the seats. I wouldn't worry about the top, you'll be fine driving the car long distances.

Got back from Boxstoberfest yesterday, and my love of the car has been cemented. For whatever reason, I had been fairly docile / passive with the car (admittedly it was just through break in) until I got behind Mojonito in the hill country. He was our tour lead in his shiny new srs, and once we had some clear road, he opened the taps. It forced me to “wake up and drive”, which unlocked far more of the srs than I had experienced before. The regular spyder is already a fantastic handling machine, but add in the howl of the intakes, the BAM BAM BAM of rapid fire downshifts on hard braking into corners, the liveliness of the back end under hard acceleration, and the HOLD ON! feeling as your RPM climb past 6k and the intakes start screaming…
May I have some more, please? All traces of Buyer’s Remorse totally dispelled. Many thanks to @Mojonito for the excellent wake up call.
PS I'll add that, even at lower speeds, the intakes keep you reminded you're driving something special. Every acceleration is a concert, which varies in character with the GO pedal depression; every slow down can be used to hear that awesome intake bark.

Only real issue with the top was when the car gave a warning about it not being secure when approaching certain speeds, but I was with a couple of friends from PAG and they told me to simply ignore it.

and the car is absolutely glorious. Best of all the 911s and 718s I’ve driven. Just a total drivers car. First time (besides track days) I’ve driven a car and not played music. I just listened to the incredible intake sounds all day long.
