Great writeup! I wanted to verify what you're telling us about the resonated X pipe in the picture vs the OEM 4RS/SRS rear muffler, that the X pipe is quieter? Is that from the ear test or actual measurements? So I can put that X pipe on my 4RS with OEM OAPs and lower the OA sound level of my car? That seems impossible.

Thats correct. The silenced non valved race pipe from JCR is slightly quieter than OEM by itself, while changing the tone to what my ears like, which is a smoother, higher, more resonated pitch similar to the RSR video above. Hope this helps. Similar to a torque curve, I would say -1 to 2 db quieter under 4k RPM and ~1+ DB louder or equilvilant above 4k vs. OEM. Johnny from JCR confirmed this for me.

Gotcha - I think that’s a good move on their part. 👍

I think it’s just the tips - I’ve heard reviewers say it both ways, though.

That's surprising as this JCR silenced CMB on the GT3 with OEM headers/sides was 8 db louder than the stock GT3 at WOT.

Sorry I know this is an SRS thread so I'll just leave it at that.

Interesting. I suspect the differences in exhaust flow paths result in the SRS model being quieter (991 has side valves while SRS has rear silencer/muffler valves, in addition to the 991 JCR model splitting exhaust paths in the rear section where the SRS model forces all flow through a single silenced pipe)

Did a track experience at Rocky Mountain Motorsports yesterday in the SRS, what a car! It was a follow the instructor, nothing too crazy, but we pushed a decent pace, and I am amazed at how good this car handles so effortlessly.

The balance seems to be right on the target. The exit speed/power is pretty fantastic, foot down and it launches out of the corners. There was a Aventador behind me and he could not match my exit speed he said.

I was expecting a bit of tires screeching, maybe a bit of under or over steer, NOTHING, the car didn't even blink at it. Not that I have the skills to push it hard enough, the car has way more skill than I have!

Finally! Break in complete. Did one quick pull to 9 and...yowza does it really find a whole new gear after 7! (pun intended) Let the hooliganism commence. Safely, of course.

I took delivery on Friday at PEC Atlanta and the wife and I drove our SRS 850 miles back to MI. Fun three day trip home and great way to work through a portion of breaking in the car. Team at PEC were amazing in walking us through how to install and remove the top. We got it down quickly and it's super straight-forward after having great instruction. Car is fantastic and is definitely more visceral vs the Spyder (which I like a lot). SRS is loud and above 75 mph ithere's a good amount of wind noise, whether the top is up or down. It is off to get PPF today and even more fun awaits!

This video is Kline rear muffler only ( mic looks like in rear bumper)
Looking forward to your reactions on the Kline back box only. As best I know, you’ll be the first SRS owner with that setup. I’m trying to decide between that solution and the JCR back box only (valved race) which I have and love on my Spyder. Keep us posted please!
