The top and its assembly have been well publicized. If you get one anyway and gripe. I’m not sure what to think. I like mine a fun occasional use car.

There's a whole other thread about this, but the only dislike so far is the random "top not closed all the way" warning when you have the top off (and has been off). Seems like it's related to a sensor in the rear clamps. You can't ignore the warning as it seems to periodically beep at you if you just drive. Otherwise loving it so far.

Like your 200k+ Beetle? I think I’d rather pay 160k for my hairdresser car, which has the same engine as the Beetle.

I jest, I jest. 😁

Picking up a fully loaded SRS tomorrow afternoon. Will post impressions shortly vs my 992 TTS 1000+hp stage 4 )

I have a rally beginning of Sep, will be breaking in the car over the weekend and full send on the rally!

Is there any break in oil changes on the SRS?? What is the first service interval? I generally do all my own servicing. (Any oil change info on these cars on here??)

Is it accurate that with the top on the SRS intake noise is even louder than on the gt4rs?

There are three levels of intake symphony.

I’d say closest to 4RS is Sun Shade and Weather Protector on. This also quietest. Very civilized in the cockpit. Of course this is my least like config.

Loudest is just sun shade on…this is insane. Significantly louder than 4RS

Pleasant balance is the roof removed…nirvana.

Pretty cool that top and intake give you three tune able experiences

appreciate it - and very interesting one can modulate through configuration.

i DO like the idea of getting some exhaust notes, along with the intake, when running with the top off.

i have never had a convertible but this one really has me tempted, primarily because of the special ability to enjoy the engine in all its glory (ie power, sound, etc)

Easy stuff.

I forgot to mention my buddy has a 4RS.

Completely different chassis and sound experience

Well said! My buddy has a 4RS as well, and we've swapped back and forth over a 400km trip to test out the differences.

IMO Sunshade + weather protector on is closest to 4RS in character of the sound, but less volume. Roof removed is closest to 4RS in terms of volume, but it has a different (and better imo) character to the intake sound. YMMV. Obviously I'm biased towards my own car (SRS).

100% agree with everything else!

My own car arrives in 3 weeks time, went launch Spec. Had the afternoon on road and track in the one at Porsche Experience centre yesterday, what an awesome bit of kit an absolute riot of a fun drive car, can’t wait to do some mountain trips.

It beeps at you whenever you stop, and start again. But the worse aspect is you can’t get to any other info on that digital screen while the error message persists (water temp, oil pressure, etc).

Break-in commences in earnest tomorrow, when we get home (although now it is predicted to rain for the next 4 days - HA).. Having to pick it up from ppf and immediately park it for 10 days was at least mitigated by an awesome vacation.

Such a good looking car! Who would have thought Porsche would ever make an RS model with an open top!

does it not seem incongruous to the nature of
an RS that it is a convertible?

like BMW’s M moniker getting applied to an SUV?
