Spyder RS driving/ownership impressions

MrFunk,
Seems like that GT4 RS owner is saying the RS is a killer machine as long as you don't take it past 7,000 RPM and don't mind the Harsh Suspension on Non-Smooth-Pavement.
I guess in the end one just has to keep in mind that Porsche designed the GT4 RS as a TRACK-Machine not a Street Machine.

The suspension is firm but in no way harsh. Far from it. On good to reasonable pavement the suspension (the whole car) feels so resolute, so shot through with integrity, so... expensive. Like your GT4 but dialed up another notch or two. I leave PASM on firm in mine cuz I want to feel that expensive engineering. In fact, this is the aspect of the car that impresses me the most (not the engine.) Now, broken pavement is another story. Best to steer clear. I was caught on a long patch once and resigned I was not going to make it out without serious undercarriage damage, between the symbolic ground clearance and absence of suspension travel.

MrFunk,
Thanks for sharing the YouTube video is one of the better to me as the guy was just Down-to-Earth in his descriptions of both them.
You know I have always been wondering could I deal with the interior noise of the GT4 RS coupe.
After once again watching another review I don't think it would be very livable for simply driving on the street and NOT-Tracking it.
I base the above ^^^ on me finally having made the last change to my 2021 Cayman 718 GT4 W/PDK.
From the previous SOUL V1 exhaust to the New SOUL V2 exhaust which is totally livable on the street in Quiet-Mode.
It's fun to ROMP at Ultra-High-RPM but after doing that Many-many times I find it gets to be to much.

Yes and no. Imo, the 4RS is not a killer machine under 7000. Under that, I doubt you'd feel much difference re power delivery compared to your GT4. Between 7500 and 9000 it becomes a killer machine in the sense that it sounds like it is going to explode and a flying bit of the engine will kill you.

I'm glad your enjoying your GT4 RS.
Personally after watching all the YouTube videos I have I'll stick with my GT4 W/PDK and the changes I have had done to further enhance it.

For the track there's only ONE car!
the other is for the road, the Spyder RS....
anythingelse is just a personal bias to justify the huge money spent
disclaimer on my biases.....
i tested on the same track same day both 3RS and 4RS...

Doubt it would be exposed carbon fiber as it's covered. It might be CFRP, but I would doubt they would use exposed carbon fiber that you will never see.

Not even CFRP, some cheap looking plastic/felt. That is a bit disappointing. Porsche should have left the carbon pieces in even if not visible normally. Or at least charge less for the WP on the Spyder.

That white looked great! Epic with the hood stripe!
Not quite as good as the Spirit Animal quotes, but “terrier with the howl of a werewolf…” ain’t bad.
One common thread in these video reviews…sheer joy.
Can’t wait 6/6/24.
