LOL. Interesting comment below.
I never looked at the 718 platform has a performance oriented car. It was always more about FUN than performance. If performance was what I wanted, then the 911 is always the better choice.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with my old 981.1 Boxster Spyder and I had a great time in my GT4RS. I can only imagine the same car, without a roof and a more road compliant suspension, would be even more engaging and fun to drive!
Can't wait for mine to arrive in July. CXX requests being finalized this month for May production.

That is a silly statement. You don't need a GT division version of a boxster or cayman to have fun. Or for that matter, to extract seriously enjoyable / competent track performance. If TTOD is the measure of performance, then whatever the latest ring record holder is the answer.
There is always a faster car.

I think you are missing my point. You can always do fun things in any cars, but it's the process of getting there that separates the great cars from the good ones.
I find the base cayman/boxster extremely boring to drive. No sound, no grunt, no steering feel, just not a whole lot of soul.
GT4 was a good start but it understeered A LOT, but the GT4RS was day and night better. The 4RS is the first 718 car that didn't make me miss my 911 GT cars, it's that good. So naturally, I am very excited about the upcoming RS Spyder.
And no, all this fun has nothing to do with absolute performance. The RS version has better sound, better throttle feel, better steering feel, better brake modulation, etc. Simply put, the car has more "soul".

Just out of curiosity — how did you obtain CCX for model year 2024? It’s been well documented here that CCX was closed for 2024; a regional Porsche NA representative also confirmed it to my sales guy. I had tried to put myself on board but it was a no-go for 2024. My Spyder RS is a February 2024 production. (I am not in the VIP program.)

Sure, I will explain it here so everyone has a clear understanding of how CXX works.
PCNA has roughly 18-20 spots for CXX build each month, split between 3 regions across the US (West, Central, and East). So each region has capacity roughly 6-7 cars per month. Having said that, the West region has always had the highest demand for CXX build over the years (you can thank California for that). This is spread among all of the 718, 911 and Tacan production in Zuffenhausen.
As you can imagine, the more limited/special the model is, the higher the demand for CXX build is. So Porsche did itself no favor when it released a bunch of special models within the past 12 months (eg. 911 Dakar, 911 GT3RS, 911ST, GT4RS and RS Spyder). The RS Spyder allocations was dropped for the VIP customers in the US back in early September 2023. My actual allocation was confirmed back on September 12.
Originally my initial production month for my RS Spyder was set for January 2024, and the CXX production slots were already filling up for April 2024 (CXX slots were filled with 911 Dakar, GT3RS and GT4RS requests). So we had to give up the earlier production slot and my CXX slot was booked for May 2024 for my RS Spyder. Remember, all of this was happening back in September. About 2 weeks after the initial VIP RS Spyder allocations were dropped, the VIP allocations for the 911ST were dropped as well. So 2 weeks after my RS Spyder allocation, my 911ST CXX build slot was booking for July 2024 already.
By the time the regular RS Spyder allocations were dropped a few months after, all of the CXX slots for the US market were already spoken for. Hope this explanation makes sense and give you guys a better insight into the world of CXX.

Quiet? I dunno know about that every dealer I had visibility into (or reports on here) showed 1-5 Spyder RSs per dealer dropped around 1 Nov. Some earlier allocations were absorbed by 918 VIP holders.
Who are you working with? I had a DC metro area (VA side) call me about a Spyder RS allocation "package", but I already had one so I passed.
Lastly, reach out to one of the brokers on here...they can usually find one and are a great resource.
Good luck....start calling as many dealers as you can stand.

I am continuing to beat the drum here… sorry —
But when calling the brokers and dealers: know that most of them talk to each other (extra-legally), and know that most of them manipulate the prices by setting the prices. Object to high markups: the more people who object, the more reason they’ll have to set reasonable prices when they talk to each other.

My dealer said they hope for next round of allocations in February or March for the SRS. We'll see if my MSRP allocation comes through or if its all smoke.

From a SoCal dealer? If so, you might as well be walking on water because I would think that trying to get any kind of GT allocation at MSRP from a SoCal dealer would be mission impossible....hope you do get it.

Next month or so seems a little early for the MY25 drop. Regardless, I suggest you work your dealer contacts hard now as they already know and are working their MY25 projected allocations. They already know exactly what they're getting.
