I don't know if it's over the entire VAG or just Porsche, but the sale of electric vehicles is part of the equation, which are not selling as well as hoped for at
this point in time.
Porsche is a separate public company from VAG now even if VAG owns shares so I would expect any emissions requirements to be within Porsche alone.

hmm, maybe you're right... i would have thought that they would have a gas and ev model produced in parallel like the Macan and Panny/Taycan, but I just looked up YTD sales for the 718 and it's only 6% of sales by volume, so maybe Porsche doesn't think it's prudent to keep ICE alive at the same time as EV.

Did they ever talk about having gas and EV Cayman/Boxster platforms simultaneously? I always thought it was just a discussion about the replacement being EV.

I feel like they are gonna have a turbo charged 718 GTS moment, where they will have to revert back.

Why buy an impractical 2 seater when the same electric engined SUV can deliver the same acceleration and street performance?...

My was (still is) scheduled to start last Monday (9/15) but no update yet in the app. Dealer is going to check their system tomorrow to see if it rolled to V260 (production start) and TYD is just behind on being updated. But, since yours updated within a day of scheduled start, I think something might have stalled mine and it isn't a delayed TYD update.

In case others w/ 2025 model year are wondering, the fourth from the last digit in the Sypder RS VIN number is a "7"; on the 2024 model years the fourth from the last was a "0" as you would expect for the sequential number portion of the VIN. So a 2024 model year sequential number appears as "0xxx" or "1xxx" making it obvious yours is the xxxxth one in the series. The 2025 model year syntax is "7xxx" for some reason. "xxx" still represents the number yours is in the series. If they sell more than 999 2025 model year Spyder RSs they will need to figure out a new fourth from the last digit to replace the "7".

Not sure if this information is up to date, but it provides a good insight to VIN numbers within the Porsche group:

https://www.stuttcars.com/porsche-da...e-vin-decoder/

scroll down the site to see the different standards and examples of each of the numbers.

Nice. Mine is 170, so a few numbers in between, but my manufacturing process production starts on the 23rd (09/23) for apparently (according to the dealer) mid November-ish arrival. We may end up on the same boats...

Interesting .. wonder if my date will get pushed out? This is what the dealer provided me a few weeks back.

After some back and forth with the dealer for a few weeks, we came to a much reasonable ADM and took it home!

"The 2025 model year syntax is "7xxx" for some reason. "xxx" still represents the number yours is in the series."

My 2025 4RS VIN was assigned on Monday - the last four numbers are "1113".

Does this mean I'm #113 for 2025 or is "11" the syntax for 2025 RS's and I'm #13?

Thanks

Is yours a North American registered vehicle? Is position 10 in your VIN an ‘R’ (model year 2024) or an ‘S’ (model year 2025)?

That’s interesting if this is a MY2025 vehicle. My research was observational only as there is not a lot of absolute detail available. I was able to review a handful of 2025 model year SRS VINs and all had a “7” in the fourth from the last position.

This could indicate that Porsche will be manufacturing less than 1000 MY2025 SRS for North America.
