This is a fantastic thread. I have read through it a couple of times now. I'm contemplating having my indy shop do some programming for me on my 22 GT4. I found the posts about lighting the gauges all the time by changing the gauge faces from black to white. A couple of people asked about also having the gauge needles for tachometer and speedometer alway lit too. I didn't see anything about that, was that ever figured out?
I also saw a post about lighting the puddle lights on the door mirrors when they are folded in. Is there programming to have the door mirrors fold back out when the car is unlocked, rather than when the engine is started? That would be my preference if it can be done.
My list for changes if I decide to have the programming done-
Remember last setting for auto start/stop
Gauges lit at all times
Accurate water temperature (my water temp seems to vary a lot, I never see it stuck at 194 as was mentioned when that was discussed)
Puddle lights on with mirrors folded (if I can't get them to unfold when the car is unlocked).

Interesting, I was wondering if 718 GT cars exhibit the same behaviour as non-GT's? My current GTS 4.0 and AFAIK @718socal 's Cayman GTS 4.0 keep the displayed coolant temp @ 194. My previous 718 Boxster and a friend's 718 Cayman S also show 194 all the time (once warmed up). What do others with 718 GT4's and Spyders see on your coolant temp displays?

I haven't found any settings for the needles. The puddle light coding is above on post 211. It is subtle and somewhat useful in very dark area. I don't know if there is another way to unfold the mirrors besides turning the ignition ON. Here are the settings for the Open/Close coding with the remote buttons. Maybe someone can explain what TSZ means for the first one.

Thanks 718socal! The shop currently installing my rollbar and doing a track alignment has the PIWIS and does programming/coding. I want to get it back from those things and then try to get an idea from him what the programming will cost. Trying to pace myself a little!
You can code everything from your list. Find someone with PIWIS or get one.

The PSE control is a map in the DME, this is why tuners can change it. Cobb had some insight on this. The center console button sends a signal to the DME to request the sport PSE setting, but the DME controls the valve based on many inputs like gear, RPM, button setting, etc…
This map is not something that is programmable with a PIWIS

@Z06jerry you and I are learning something new everyday. I just checked the simulation data for GT4 and Spyder, and they do show the actual coolant temperatures from Y1 to Y8.

Maybe it is. The only acronym that I found in German is tanz sport zentrum. It means Ballroom Dancing or Dancing Center
