So knowing ADM's are reality... what percentage of MSRP is considered acceptable for a new 2023 allocation?

I would say around 20k is "acceptable" on a new 2023 allocation if used cars are trading for 15k-30k over MSRP depending on the spec/miles/etc and dealers are buying them for MSRP-10k from people.

My take is that anything under $20K is a "deal." lol Did I just say that? Yes I did. And I meant relatively speaking. I'm falling for the hype that the chance of getting to spec one of these cars is becoming less likely every day given what Porsche has said about the mid-engine line in 2025. Selfishly, I hope the hype is true because (I'll own one and) these cars will be worth MSRP or more into the next decade.

At $20k over I would have laughed at my dealer and walked out the door. That would have made my GT4 a $150k purchase.

Would that have been a bad thing if its fair market value as you pulled into your garage was 150?

I paid $9k over for a CPO 2021 Miami Blue but, to me, it wasn’t really $9k because the car had full XPel Stealth PPF and ceramic coating on the car, wheels and brake calipers. All of that is stuff I do customarily on every car I buy and usually pay in the $7-10k range for all of it. So I feel like I just paid MSRP. I’m happy with that. Would I have liked to “win” the deal? Of course. But life is too short.

I think you did quite well. Manual or PDK? That is a great price with a PTS to boot.

manual! All the goodies. $136k MSRP. Burm, PCCB, LWB, leather everywhere. To be fair, it isn’t PTS. It was one of the last 2021s made before they replaced Miami Blue with Python Green or Shark Blue.

you stole that car. CPO with all the extras to boot. Basically MSRP give or take when all is factored in.

This is how people talk themselves into making a poor financial decision.

I’ve got an entire bag of tricks when it comes to justifying the price i pay for luxury goods. I start off usually by reminding myself that I don’t golf and I’m not a gambler or a drug addict. Look at all the savings right there.

So easy for those of us who didn't pay an ADM to sanctimoniously tell others not to even though the current market appears to justify higher prices. I think an auto industry slowdown is coming, but the Spyder/GT4 market may be the last effected because there's nothing to buy. I would however be more cautious than I would have been a year ago.

Same. Much cheaper than keeping a mistress and my wife is happy as she knows where to find me--in the garage tinkering or driving.

That works. When I gave up Club Racing and HSR I had a lot of extra cash.
