Porsche Cutaway Drawings

Here are some preliminary studies of the Boxster GTS 4.0 version. I'm still working on the engine bay as it needs some more refinement. I added the engine, exhaust, transmission, shifter, GTS steering wheel and Race-Tex interior trim to the original Boxster S image. The exterior color is sort of Signal Green-ish and not sure which Blue but they are just quick coloring edits for contrast. I will probably work on breaking apart the GT4 and Spyder images next for colorizing. I will post some more updates when I have more to show. Hope you all enjoy them.

The labor is mainly in creating all of the layers and masks that allow for the flexibility of adding colors and options. It's kind of like tooling up for a production run - once all of the layers and masks needed are done, the fun part of customizing begins. I started working on the GT4 today and was able to get to this point so far. The tricky part will be uncovering the suspension parts, etc from the body color. I kind of like the look of it so far even with the body color overlaid on the suspension and wheels. Lava Orange-ish:

I will start working on the Spyder file next. I'm limited by the resolution of the originals since I don't have the models. The max resolution of the Spyder is a little larger at 5040 x 3564 and 304 dpi so that should help. The aspect ratio can be altered some with cropping if needed. The biggest question mark will be if I can replicate something close enough to that color. We'll shall see.

Here are a couple of early colorizations of the Spyder cutaway. This one is a little tricky since the source image is a white one. It will take a bit to figure out how to get the best color representations out of it.

Chalk would be easier to replicate I would think since it is fairly close to white. Once the layers are separated, the color process is pretty quick. The labor is in the layer and mask creations leading up to it, most of which I have done. I will see if I can get something that looks close to chalk. That has become a pretty popular color on the 718 it seems and it looks very nice.
