Maybe he is keeping the 3rd for himself after taking $100k ADM's on the other two.

Seems like a lot of people are getting more and more info on theirs and I'm still in the dark as to when my #3 slot (to which i was told they were getting 3) will have any sort of movement. Wonder if the dealer let someone jump the line..
exact same boat as you, 3rd (allegedly) in line, but I’m. It able to build the car yet till they have the 23 allocations in their system. I’d assume first 2 (or however many) were 918 VIPS… we could be both getting jerked around or just worried we might be

Same on my market......I did secure 1 allocation of the first 4 given but the dealer hasn't received confirmation for the rest of the year and have some very anxious customers on their list.
They really don't know exactly when and how many will receive. Current situation is driving everyone nuts contrary what has been normal with other GT cars.

Are most of the RS allocations still going to 918 VIPs, or have more been released?

I am not a VIP. But my allocation was from an allocation given to driver through Porsche Motorsport. I bought the allocation from him through my dealer.

I believe there's about 300-400 allocations were released and about 200 or so of them were for 918 VIP's last I heard.

Same here. I have a build in and a comm#, TrackYourDream email never came. Contacted Porsche NA and they are aware of my order and said they will resend my TYD email (still nothing). Meanwhile the allocations that was supposed to be released in March were obviously pushed back so I am also in the waiting game.

Not sure if this is useful info or just more of the same as I've not read all 64 pages, but a semi-local dealer to me has 2 open allocations for winter delivery 2023 units and they want 100k over. Just spoke with them myself, this AM, so direct info, not 3rd hand or something. Far too much for me to consider.

What’s your relationship with the dealer? I’ve generally found ADM to be a variable target based on other factors.

I've bought a few Porsches and some other cars from them over the years, certainly nothing like some people describe as being "in".

Winter 2023 allocations were released? Seems kind of suspect.

To be clear, his exact words were "we have 2 allocations available, they'll be my23 and be fall or winter delivery". I was unaware this made a difference or whatever... Just trying to pass along some info.

same...i own a gt4, was told today $100K over to secure a RS slot for mid to late 2023. with the limited year run and 2023 seeming more and more likely for the next batch, i dont see anyone getting an allocation at a more reasonable ADM until maybe end of cycle, 2024/2025? Not sure i want to wait that long nor do I want to wait for second hand ones which will undoubtedly retail for close to $250K...just take a look at Gt3 trends. now the question is...is the extra100k worth it to push me to dump my '21 GT4?? that's a tough call... i do think the RS will be the one to have as the last run of the NA caymans (before electric), mid-engine/Gt3 power unit/track spec, etc. That certainly commands a premium of kind that should retain value for many years to come...

If money is no object and you've gotta have it now, then sure, a $100k markup may be worth it. But there are a lot of reasons not to go that high.

A. At over $250k, you're starting to get into lightly used exotics that are a lot more car than the GT4RS.
B. Even with the GT3 feeding frenzy, there are numerous examples of cars at $100k+ markups failing to meet reserve in auctions or sitting on a dealer lot for 3+ months. $100k (70% markup!) is really pushing it for the GT4RS.
C. If value retention is what you're after, you don't wanna be the person paying near peak markups. If you have to have it now, and the premium doesn't bother you then maybe.
D. Interest rates rising and bull market slowing down will slow down a bit of buying activity. GT car buyers are not super sensitive to this, but some people only use 'play' money for these cars and if that pot of money contracts, they don't buy toys.

I suspect that initial markups are very high because a lot of customers believe that this initial batch of MY22 cars is all that is ever going to be made. When more people realize that there'll be more cars than that, and a few other GT products hit the streets, it should cool things off a bit. I think there'll be markups in most markets for the entire GT4RS run, but I don't think $100k markups are sustainable. Maybe $30-60k.

I'll throw my experience on the pile. Never owned a P-car and don't own a "competing" car either. Dealer took my deposit on the car at MSRP the week it was revealed. Told me that since I don't have a pre-existing relationship with the dealership or Porsche, I'm in the back of whatever waiting line they end up with (I have a tangential relationship to the sales manager). His request, which is a reasonable one, is not to buy a car and then put it up on BAT to flip, but rather to sell it back to them. I told him that I didn't want to take delivery before Jan 1 anyway, in case that is helpful to him in managing allocations. Wont be the end of the world if I never get a car, but I sure hope it works out.

And yes, I do plan to track my car occasionally. I have a dedicated race car already, but would love to run this car in a few track days.
