We should all know at this point not to trust the words we here from AP on how many cars will be built, though I think the GT4 really got affected by Covid. That said, I would not be surprised at all if the "regular" GT4 ends up more rare than the RS. Not to say it'll ever be worth more than the RS, but it may turn out to have been the best bargain short of the 981 GT4.

One of the Premier dealers got one allocation for the entire year of 2022 (GT4) - and as you can guess, they got more GT4 RS's as efforts are to push out more GT3's/GT4 RS's.

Where did he lie? I don't he's ever said, 'we'll produce X amount of cars' except for the 911R. I recall him saying something to the effect of, 'they'll build GT4's to meet demand' or something, which they had been doing until Covid supply shortages hit. Back in early spring last year there were a number of new GT4's for sale at MSRP, and some available at small discounts.
Ultimately, all im saying is it may be a false thought process to believe you can wait it out and get a car at all, let alone at MSRP or a discount.

How much over msrp are GT4 RS allocations going for? I have someone that has an allocation where he has rights to sell directly to a dealer or individual but he has no idea of how much it is actually worth. Some dealers have offered him $40k for the slot but we’ve heard that it’s worth a lot more. I’m just trying to collect some data points.
Your friend just has to decide if he's gonna do all the legwork to try to find a buyer and close the deal himself. Could also just wait until the car arrives and sell it then. Or counter them with $50k.

Well, given the 4RS builds that are getting scheduled now, and still delivering ahead of my (recently updated) spyder build, now delivered July 8...I wonder if the urgency to make 4rs is bumping other builds down the priority stack.

Either way, I just can't wait to get mine out on track hahaha

I think that's pretty much what I said.... ;-) if everyone really thought cars would be "built to demand," I doubt we'd be seeing such huge markups. And honestly at this point, I'm not sure you could say any Porsche model is being built to demand based on what dealer lots look like.
Ultimately, all im saying is it may be a false thought process to believe you can wait it out and get a car at all, let alone at MSRP or a discount.

I'm just hoping we really see supply pick up for MY2023 for the GT4RS and GT3 to make up for the trickle over the last 12 months.

Honestly it looked like demand was met and then some by the beginning of 2021 when there were GT4's sitting on lots. So he would've been right until covid hit. But to your point, I wouldn't bet on being able to wait things out to get a GT4RS at sticker, especially if you're in a hot market. I think if someone does some leg work now they might be able to secure a car before the end of production but I don't think anyone can sit around and expect to get a new car at MSRP as a walk-in a year or two from now.
I'm just hoping we really see supply pick up for MY2023 for the GT4RS and GT3 to make up for the trickle over the last 12 months.

yeah, this wasn't true in the big markets. there were no gt4s sitting on lots in California in 2021 at MSRP. Or 2020, or 2022. Which is all the years for the 718. The only ones that sat were because the dealers were angling for MASSIVE ADMs. They're up to $40K now (asking. lolz, please don't do it). there was an extremely brief window in the summer of 2020 when there were gt4s sitting at $5K ADM. Any gt4 at MSRP on a lot did not last long.

I purchased my 718 gt4 3 months pre-owned, with 2k miles on the clock as a CPO car in January 2021 for 102k. Other than wheel color, it was specced exactly how I would have done it. MSRP of ~116-117k. Granted I did trade in a 996 GT3 and a 718 Boxster. ADM hurts and is transitory. I had the opportunity earlier this year to lock in a 992 GT3 at 30k ADM and thought they were crazy for asking that much. And now it's even crazier. Everything ebbs and flows and timing and luck play a huge role.

Hi Morjo,
US order bank is open. I have my MY22 for a May Build & I am taking euro delivery on it.
A lot of dealers have been saying they received 5 or more allocations, but I have heard that is most likely not the case from a lot of people. Unless they're counting VIP slots.
