I much prefer the Cayman vs the 991 for track prep storage. I like being able to fill the frunk and trunk with track setup vs just the frunk and the back seat area.

BUT..still think about the 4RS and how the shifts hit different and the LWB. While my ears were ringing after going on small road trips in that car with the wife I still wanna get back in one at some point! The front end didn’t feel as good as the 992 GT3 front end but much more tossable

IMO ideal garage is prob 991.2 touring with sofas and GT4RS with buckets
I think you are not wrong here!

did your ears ring if you had sport exhaust turned off?

It’s remarkable how much a 981 or later Cayman fits!

Hah. Thanks. The 4RS with the helmet on at the track was no issue or on country road bursts. But a long car ride at “highway speeds” aka 80 mph felt I needed ear plugs bc of the tire/wind noise. It’s higher, sustained speeds. I have the F1 racing buds I used which helped but even just a napkin ripped up worked the best IMO. I don’t have particular sensitive ears and I think I would consider my hearing pretty typical.

Yes, sport exhaust off ALL the time for longer rides. I actually liked the induction noise better than any exhaust/ drone sound. GT3s are more of the exhaust car IMO

I say this all..but if I could get a reasonable allocation for the 4RS I would buy another in a heartbeat ! Great car! Hope they still make 2025 cars!

Just a friendly reminder this is an allocation thread…plenty of general (or specific) 4RS threads for other topics

I don't understand comments like this. At highway speeds with the car in AUTO (7) under 5K it does NOT require earplugs and you can talk normally in the car.

Sorry. I don’t want to go into it more here. I’ll post in another thread. Happy to discuss!

Also see cars.com has ~70 listed for sale so no shortage of cars.

I’ve been looking to add a relatively low spec (non-WP, few essential options) 4RS and would even pay a reasonable mark up, but all of these used cars on the market are heavily optioned WP/PCCB/PTS with an additional 30k+ markup which is why they have been on there for months or even hundreds of days. None of that stuff appeals to me I just want the bare drivers version. If I was going to improve the car, I would add a set of apex lightweight 19s and AP racing brakes but that’s about it. Don’t understand the point of WP I’d easily leave it off and offer that 15k as a mark-up. It’s an amazing car for around 180 but not so much at 230. Hope they continue to make the car for 2025.

No one is offering 15k allocations right now so a used car won't be offering that either. A "stripper" spec will ask for whatever the cheapest price is on the market and right now that's still low 200's. If you want a stripper spec you'll have to pay the market appropriate ADM for an allocation(25-35k) and then option it how you want.

If they do continue for 2025, I suspect it will come with another 10-15% price increase. I don't see these cars trading under $200 at any point in the foreseeable future.
